Bug with Journalism career? Can't do daily task "write articles"

My Sim has a Distinguished Degree for Communications (from University expansion) & just got a job as an Investigative Journalist. She also has max level 10 Writing skill.

She has a daily task to "Write Articles (not started)" but when I go to her computer, click on "Write", there is no option to do her daily career task.

These are the only "Write" options she has (and I've tried them all):

• "Write obituaries" (doesn't count & just gives Thanatology experience)
  
• "Write a Love Email" (doesn't count)
  
• "Write excuse note for..." (doesn't count)
  
• "Write Genre Book" (doesn't count & none of the genre book options fit, either)
  
• "Practice Writing" (doesn't count or really do anything because she has 10/10 writing skill)

Also the "Career" menu only shows these options:

• Find a Job
  
• Quit Job
  
• Find Odd Jobs

This seems like a bug tbh, and I actually wonder if it's somehow related to having the University and Life & Death expansions? Because she started the journalism career at an advanced level (due to her degree) *and also* there's a "Write Obituaries" option in the "Write" menu that may be overwriting the "Write Articles" option somehow? Actually I figured this out. I needed to interview other sims about their lives ("Friendly" menu option), and *then* my sim was able to write a positive or negative article about them.

Found the solution today:

My Sim had to interview a few other sims about their lives. This option was under Friendly > Hobbies & Interests (I think) or a similar submenu. "Interview about life" had a pen icon next to it.

After interviewing these sims, my Sim had the option to "Write Positive Article" or "Write Negative Article" about the sims she had interviewed. Doing this satisfied the daily task requirement for her Investigative Journalist career.
