Knowing EA they are taking their time to investigate it, find out exactly what's causing it and trying to put some kind of fix in place. if it's that much of a problem it's not going to be an easy fix.

For now, it seems the only way to avoid save corruption is to limit the number of residential rentals owned by your own Sims (the ones that came with the pack don't seem to cause this problem) and keep an eye on the save's size.
