Worked fine yesterday. Today I get an error trying to launch The Sims 4. I ran the check on integrity of local files, I cleared the Steam download cache, no change.
The exact error window says:

link2ea://launchgame/1222670?[latform=steam&theme=ts4
The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.

Looks to me like this is a problem with the EA launcher (which I don't understand why it is even needed to launch from steam).

Any fix?

I fixed mine up opening the EAlauncher and linking my Steam account.
Program Files/Electronic Arts/EA Desktop/EA Desktop/EALauncher Application
