NO AUTOSAVE?

sim had a baby in game and for some reason it went to sim creation page, taking me out of my house losing saved game. annoyed cause last save was when first born alien child was only an infant and he was halfway through as a toddler when i lost my save. so annoyed! nearly played 12 hours straight and losing that last 4 hours progress has just put me off the game..

You can get Auto Save option with a mod called MCCC. I don't use it because it tends to generate LOTS of save files and I actually save my games very often, but might be a solution for you.
