The Sims™ 4

Early life stages - infants.
I just testing the new rebirth system and this experience with kids is reminding me why i never wanted to have ones. I can spend HOURS of writing what is wrong with toddlers and infants gameplay, but that's not what i want to say now. Only one thing.

WHY IN THE HELL THESE LIFE STAGES HAVE SOCIAL COMPATIBILITY???

Social compatibility comes from likes and dislikes. When an important person i want to be close with have bad compatibility, i just change their likes. But you can't change them with these early stages, so... if your kid have bad compatibility with you, they will hate everything you do with them. How is this normal? How is this logical? How is this fair?

Ok, maybe i effed up and kids born normally don't have this problem. One kid in the rebirth target family was a teen and i downaged them to toddler so my reborn boy have same age sibling. Maybe that is the problem as a teen had already set likes and dislikes and natural born babies hadn't. But that is only a theory.

You know that meme. The one where there's a guy riding a bike and then he decides to take out a stick and jam it into his own front wheel's spokes causing him to crash but he starts rage-blaming something else?

I think your theory is spot-on, EA never intended for toddlers to have likes and dislikes so it wasn't a problem until you made it one by de-aging an older sim that already had some established.

Live with your self-created problem, that's half the fun and heck you might learn from this on multiple levels.

Thanks for the story!

It does make sense that de-aging the Sim from teenage to toddler causes that problem. Kids usually don't have likes and dislikes during the early life stages; not sure about first graders, but teens definitely have them as well as compatibility. Maybe the Sim's age after rebirth played into that, too, but I think de-aging that Sim caused the problem.

Hm... i did check it out, my reborn sim have no compatibility, his sister have one. Yup, that was it. So cheating karma caught me... dammit. when they rise to infants, i need to cheat again to took away her likes and dislikes...
Sims rebirthing into infants or toddlers from Life & Death expansion pack may not necessarily be a good idea even if it was an elder sim with the burning soul trait where you decide to make that sim become reborn once he or she gets burning soul reward trait as a ghost, unless if you do not plan on playing with them during those early lifestages until he or she has reached at least the child lifestage. Child lifestage on The SIms 4 in my opinion is the the fourth best lifestage after elders (3rd best even if they could get more gameplay from expansion packs mainly because it is near the end of someone's life) teens (2nd best despite HSY having mixed reviews), and adults and young adults (both ranked number 1 because it is a tie).
