Shouldn't the library have more books?

I remember once upon a time, going to a library and the library having a lot of books, including skill books, to read. Now, there's the default amount you get when you buy a shelf. Am I remembering wrong? I thought that was one of the main points to the library.

Are you mixing it up with TS3? Those libraries were always packed, and usually had a rack of skill books as well. TS4 only has extra books if you buy them.

Sims also like to steal books. I've had a few go missing in my house. It seems to happen when they are reading, but then have to leave for whatever reason, and they don't get the "put away book" action. They just put it in their inventory and leave the lot.

Do you have Eco Living DLC? If so, you may have the "sharing is caring" neighborhood action plan in effect. I heard you can disable it by enabling cheats, then shift clicking the mailbox. I don't have that dlc yet, so that's all I know.

Yeah TS4 libraries are kind of obsolete gameplay wise. I made a steam guide that explains how to add books to libraries if you want to expand yours. It's stupid that you have to do things in a roundabout way to put extra books in libraries, but at least it's possible

No, never played Sims 3. Once upon a time I remember sending my sim to a library and the shelves having lots of different books on it.
Unless finding all the books there was a bug, kinda weird.
