I don't see the point in getting upset at a devs choice to make a game free when it's been out for years, wouldn't you want more people to play a game you're interested in?

I paid for the game in the past, and I think it's wonderful. I don't play The Sims too often, but I have multiple friends I was excited to tell, that the game is now free.
Games aren't free to create, they gotta make money somehow.
Life is rough sometimes. Quit complaining and enjoy some video games!

You paid for the game willingly, and there was never an agreement that shall it get free in future, you'll get your money back..

They should have gave us something, you're missing the point. We paid for the game and nobody else has to now. Our purchase was now for nothing.

That's where your argument falls apart. If you bought the game five years ago, your purchase was an extra five years of time to play the game before free players could access it. If you bought the game six months ago, same deal—you had an extra six months to play before other people. That is what you get for paying. You are not entitled to anything more.

We could have waited and saved our money. If you buy a TV and it goes on sale, at least where I live, you can come back and get the discount. I can't believe people are really out here defending EA.

I said a discount, not a refund, lol. If you buy something where I live and it goes on sale you can come back and get the discount. EA would never do that. They should have at least gave us a free DLC. No one is talking about refunds.
