Getting Steam to Recognize Origin DLC?

I know it just hit free to play today, but I've had the Sims 4 since before it was even available on Steam. Aka, I've been stuck on Origin. However, since the base game is free now, I figured I would experiment with launching it from Steam.

I already have everything installed and it requires Origin still anyway. I think I have even read about people more skilled than me actually rigging something up to do this already, so I figured I would ask: has anyone got this sort of thing going yet?

I have all DLC's and the Base Game on Origin and installed it on STEAM now.. it says i own them all but i still have only the Base Game Worlds etc.. someone a idea what to do about it?

That would be soooo good. Tried it and no DLCs appears ingame :( Any solution?

It should recognize them, look under owned DLCs and see if Steam recognizes but hasn't installed them. I own a mix of Steam and Origin purchases, all packs show up fine in my Steam version.

I have bought the original game and DLCs via Origin.

If I chose to install the free version of Sims 4 from Steam, will it recognize all my Origin purchases even if I launch from Steam? And will I have access to all the purchased content if I install Steams free base game?

oh LOL.. i have to install them on origin first.. and then they will show up on steam...

maybe copy paste the folders (from origin installation) over the steam version?

They don't get unlocked in steam, they get downloaded through origin. EA has a backwards way of doing this...

You just need to make sure you're logged in and you'll get the dlc.

I haven't tried it, but I think it will work if you download the game through the Origin client instead of through Steam. Then launch the game via Steam afterwards.

After you launch it on Steam and it opens the Origin lite launcher, log in with your Origin account (the one you have DLC on).

You can confirm in-game when you look at the DLC, the ones you own on your Origin account should say "You already own this pack" or "You need to download this pack to use it".

While Sims 4 is launched, it is in fact downloading the DLC's in the background. This will take awhile to download them, especially if you have a lot.

You can confirm this by alt-tabbing out of the game and opening the Origin lite launcher that Steam opened (not your main Origin/EA launcher), and checking the download manager in the bottom left.

Just wait for everything to finish installing, then restart Sims 4 via steam.

Yes. All Origin-purchased DLC will work on the Steam version of Sims 4. But the oipposite is not so, Origin base game cannot work with Steam DLC.

I have install the free version on steam, I lauch origin, they installed all my dlc, I can play it no problem, but steam still not add my dlc into owned dlc, wich make me mad, way hard to see how mush dlc I dont have and how mush in totall I need to expense for them on steam.
