Blast From The Past: Computer Didn't Break
For the Blast From The Past quest, the computer is supposed to break, but mine didn't, so I can't repair or replace it. Does anyone know how to fix this?

I think a few people put it outside in the rain, and having a cheap computer seems to help, too.
If your sim is a wizard, he can cast a spell to break the computer.

Thank you, this worked for me! Sabotaging it and setting it on fire didn't work, but the Zipzap spell did the trick!

Having the same problem advancing the quest, as my sim's computer is the unbreakable one, so of course the event didn't trigger it being broken.
And I have only the base game, no expansions, so the wizard option mentioned above isn't possible.

If it helps, you don't need to repair/replace the same computer that you installed the time machine on, it can be any computer. I haven't tried this myself, but I've heard that it's possible to break a computer by cancelling midway through salvaging it for parts.

For anyone else having this problem: That solution DID work for me. Use the cheapest computer available, and hit cancel about halfway through when a BSOD appears on the computer's screen.
