Yeah, welcome to Sims 4, which the devs don’t know how to set up filters so that these things do not happen. You will get that a lot for other things too. As example they don’t respect the sexual preference from a Sim in Neighborhood Stories, so it can happen that your lesbian/gay/asexual sim date the *wrong* Sim. The same goes for freelancer jobs, be ready that you animal/baby/infant etc. get a remember for a job they don’t have.

They yearn for the mines.. And those baby boot straps. Seems about right in todays society.

Ah, that's right up there with parents getting a call from other Sims congratulating them on befriending their own toddler 😁

Not just funny, but so unrealistic it is stupid. A child might be old enough to use a mobile phone, but not with infants and toddlers. While toddlers might be old enough to talk on a phone they are not actually old enough to use one on their own. Also,
children and even preteens (ages 11-12 but noticed a little earlier in girls than boys) having access to mobile phones is best described as controversial because children and preteens can be deceived more easily than adults and teens such as from scammers and potential child predators for example who might be looking for personal information as well.

I remember when I was a child, rotary phones were a thing. As a little kid, I had my own toy phone. Once the phones went to push button, any little kid or toddler could push those buttons and babble into the phone to whoever answered the other side of the line. At least if they hit the 0 when the phone was off the hook, an operator would answer, determine it was an accidental phone call, and hang up the call. Long distance phone calls also cost extra in those days, so parents kept a much better watch on their kids to make sure they weren't making expensive mistakes, breaking things, etc. Also, back in the 70s, inflation was high, but at least a living wage meant a living wage.
