The Sims™ 4

The Sims™ 4

Looks like a Tattoo DLC is coming soon
Judging by the main in-game screen, tomorrow EA will publish a new DLC trailer.

The preview picture is a bit weird but pretty clear, looks like it’s going to be about tattoos. I guess we will get a tattoo master profession and probably a tattoo shop lot for any city (with an empty land slot available) in a game pack.

I feel it's going to be a lot of nothing. We have cases that preserve food that we put in them already (making it last longer but not forever) with the sales tand. Tattoos? sure but it's probably 8x8 pixel dots that look clike crap. There's functional pottery, vs the wood working stand. If it's just watered down sculpting that's a few toilets of a different material than normal.
It is worth mentioning that I do not have high hopes for this dlc. Why would anyone think this is not going to be a buggy mess like Get to Work and For Rent? It is what EA does best with each new dlc adding new bugs and would be surprised if this dlc gets better than mixed reviews considering the overall poor reviews on Steam given to Get to Work and For Rent.

Ah, seems there's confectionery, too. Still a bit meh. I like that a business and a residence can finally share a lot, and I guess there's a lot to be done with the new business opportunities, but it's pretty meh on the hobbies side. I mean, tattooing isn't exactly a hobby. Not sure about making confectionery, though.
The news article https://www.ea.com/games/the-sims/the-sims-4/news/businesses-and-hobbies-expansion-pack has a few more details, and the pack sounds as if it might be fun on the business side because apparently, you can turn pretty much everything into a small business. So... a bit like a revamped version of Get to Work with a few features from Sims 3: Ambitions

I would also like add For Rent in the mix. It has key features in owning a business that are similar to For Rent, but in the form of business instead of apartments and landlords.

Will it work, will it not work - an entirely new and fair discussion. It probably won't.

That aside, for what I've seen so far the EP seems to come with lots of new and cool stuff. Pretty cool tbh. I don't like that some features are dependent of what packs you own (more content if you own more packs, plus this feel like a paid "refresh" in some senses).

The world, as expected, looks like crap.

100% taking the risk with this one.

I don't own many packs but I can understand the feeling of not wanting to return as there's just way to much now

OTOH, I know of a woman who had a tattoo in a rather unusual spot not normally visible in public. I kinda wanted to recreate that.

Based on the gameplay trailer it shows more than just tattoos, but it seems to me that besides the new world that tattoos seem to be the main selling point of this dlc instead of the other stuff that comes with it and overall I am under the impression this dlc was only made because of similar stuff that already exists on The Sims 2 and The Sims 3. There is a business for tattoos on the Sims 3. For The SIms 2 you can sell pottery in addition to being allowed to have a business and a home at the same time based on most recent videos I had watched on The Sims 2 Legacy Collection on YouTube with James Turner. The SIms 2 Legacy Collection also has business rewards similar to this upcoming dlc. Meaning that most of what comes with this dlc seems to be recycled content from older games in addition to it having a Get to Work 2.0 and For Rent 2.0 feel to it where I am worried it will have game breaking bugs similar to Get to Work and For Rent.

I’d like to see more playable jobs, cars, open world maps or at least neighborhoods. The ability to change color on items like you used to be able to would be nice.
