Minor stuff, nothing actual medieval based. I mean you aren't going to find a sim actor playing with a smartphone in the kings court on set when the cameras are rolling or hear a motorcycle engine roaring away in the distance from a nearby busy road.
Play acting into a medieval role through reenactment is possible for a future pack. an area set in the world where you can live and play into the medieval setting, much like the Journey to Batuu pack did.
No offense meant, but a Medieval expansion pack might have a Get Together 2.0 feel to it for the same reason why Growing Together is pretty much Parenthood 2.0. Wishing for an expansion pack that is based on just Medieval themed and reality are two different things. Journey to Batuu and Outdoor Retreat do not really have overall good reviews either on Steam despite having legitimate vacation worlds instead of fake vacation worlds (such as Copperdale, Sulani, and etc...). The only good gamepack in my opinion with an actual vacation world is Jungle Adventure and the only fake vacation world in my opinion where someone has a good reason to go on vacation is Mt. Komorebi.
It was just an idea of a potential medieval world as a re enactment, much like you are playing Jedi and Sith on Batuu in comparison. This way Ea won't need to build a whole game around it when you can hit all the right notes in TS4 as an expac instead.
But I also don't trust EA to make a great game like that again. They'll try to make it live service and appeal to 15 year olds.
EA have made it clear that for now at least, they are not looking to move the Sims on into what we might call The Sims V, but a better rule set for folks who like to have an historical theme to their game would be nice
