Sims 4 wants an app
Every time I try to launch the Sims 4 I get an error message that says I need to install an app. I am sick of this. How do I fix it/?

Is the error message telling you that you need to install the EA app? Then if so, that's what's required. The install process should have prompted you to link your Steam account with the EA App (You'll need to register an EA account. - BTW it states that is required right on the Sims 4 Steam page.)

Download and install the AP. You need it for the Sims 4.

When I saw that it needed to install yet another app on my computer, I uninstalled.

Next time maybe just read the store page, they tell you that before: Incorporates 3rd-party DRM: EA online activation and EA app software installation and background use required.

yeah. "Requires 3rd party software"... kinda a killer that. It's why I can't play RockStar games, I can't install the app. Best way to prevent piracy is to prevent the game from running at all.

yeahh, install the EA app?

its jit required to download it. from what i remember, when you try downloading sims 4 on STEAM aka here, u should have a mini app thing to appear and theres like-...... to download sims4 and the ea app too. when you download it, make an account if you dont have one !! it happens on xbox too that you need the EA app installed (on pc) else it wont work. :steamsalty:

Just to add - you should have had an option to link your Steam account to the EA App.

It gave me the same error today. Worked fine yesterday even after the update. What I did was just manually start the EA app, minimized it, then tried again from Steam and it worked fine. Not sure why there's now an occasional error with steam and the EA app communicating with each other, but there ya go. Hopefully that helps you!
