I still like to think that my Sims have personality and can be themselves for the better part of the game. Still, gameplay that interferes this heavily should be optional and not forced on everybody.
Have you found a solution to your problem, by the way? What happens if you let them flirt or do the massages, does that give you more options for romantic interactions?
What are your sims up to?
The jungle can be fun, it just takes forever to explore the ruins - I never managed to stick with it because it took too long but I like the setting and the world :)
My Sims finally celebrated New Year's Eve with lots of drinks and music, and one of their teenagers is halfway through college :)
Your sims seem to have a really good time. I am trying new things, as the romantic challenges disappeared. As they say, if not through the door, then through the window.
If you make them write books, they have income every day, even if they do not work at all. It can solve the revenue problem.
