The Sims™ 4

Why the first thing Sims do once you invite them is raid your fridge
Barely hello and already helping themselves out.

because autonomy in the sims is stupid, same reason sims go swimming during thunderstorms

Sims 4 autonomy is generally a horrid nightmare, it gets worse with more dlc's.
Personally i try to avoid interactions arround stairs, chairs or sofas, and i gave each sim individual computer, or limited it to just one sim and one computer.

One of my favorite dead’s . Visit a neighbor just to see that he freeze to death because the game decided he should be swimming in the outdoor pool after the loading screen.

this is why i stopped hiring services such as maids, while cleaning my house maids butlers and others will randomly decide "this seems like the perfect time to go swimming" while theres a heavy storm outside then zap dead

this is also why i removed pools from my lots every time i would load into a family with a pool even if there was a blizzard outside there was always atleast one sim trying to swim
But your fridge is magic. Free food for visitors.

fun to watch tho'; Sim Zeus throwing bolts of lightening at Sim swimmers.
Sounds crazy, but i'm glad they do, else my meals and crops pile up in the fridge, i like inviting friends and cooking with em(eventhough it appears to be bugged lately), but then again, i own a big farm on my lot so food is not an issue^^
If you enjoy fiddling with files you can mod that out of your game, or if you use mods, MCCC allows you to turn those types of autonomous actions on or off. But yeah, really dumb.
Autonomy is sometimes annoying, but I personally in my gameplay do not have it turned off always. Just sometimes where for me personally it is either autonomy turned off only for selected sim or autonomy turned off for everyone instead of autonomy being turned on for everyone because I overall prefer less chaos instead of more. Also, sims act stupid sometimes such as for example prioritizing hygiene over sleep even if the energy bar is very low and prioritizing hygiene over eating even if the sim is in the orange or red for hunger. The ironic part of me playing The Sims 4 is that in real life I am the opposite of this where I shower only once every two weeks or less at least partially because I do not have a job, I do not really like showering, and currently single. In real life I eat, sleep, and use the toilet a lot more frequently than shower.
