Playing For Rent with tenants
So I have this one Sim who's about to get a divorce because her husband is awful. I'm thinking about letting her move to Tomarang into one of the existing rentals there . How safe is this? I know the pack can corrupt saves when you play as a landlord and have too many rental units to manage, but does this also happen when you play as a tenant?

Played several games as a tenant and had no problems whatsoever.
Thing with events is, you don't always get a hint on what to do, so I ignored them e.g. if my sim had to go to work.
As a single sim I'd recommend the Chayaputri place since it's way smaller and cheaper than the Linh one.

You only should get this issue here: https://forums.ea.com/idea/the-sims-4-bug-reports-en/cl-du-fr-eco-objects-cluttering-worldscollectibles-disappearing/5036144

And pay attention if you get the cursed book event: https://forums.ea.com/idea/the-sims-4-bug-reports-en/fr-objects-randomly-catch-on-fire-after-solved-cursed-book-event/5049488

I recommend making a backup save for safety reasons. The clutter issue can maybe get fixed and maybe the fix will be retroactive.

This is insane, I will never get to play for rent ;p

But you could just ignore it. The worst what could happen is that you have invisible items, save bloat and unclickable collectable and thanks to the semi-fix you can’t clean it up anymore with Sims4Studio.

Or else this might lead to more issues noone figured out yet, save bloat sounds dangerous or at least long loading times ;p This game loads long enough already ;p its like 30 - 60 sec on an SDD ;p

By the way would you know if Life and Death, Lovestruck and Weddings are safe to use now ?
Xeriath Mar 21 @ 12:43pm
Can’t answer you to Life & Death and Weddings. I hardly play Sims 4 because of their *events*.

Lovestruck has still these two core issues:

https://forums.ea.com/idea/the-sims-4-bug-reports-en/romantic-relationships-decaybecome-negative-fast-with-no-interaction/4947168 <- I need to add if you are a rotation player you need a mod which freezes the romantic satisfaction system or all your unplayed couples + NPC will always end with an unsatisfied romantic satisfaction.

https://forums.ea.com/idea/the-sims-4-bug-reports-en/ja-ls-or-married-couples-appearing-in-special-vacation-world-lots/11860132 <- If you have jungle adventure couples will spawn there and maybe die. The other problem is all your worlds are full of couples if you don’t use the single traits for lots, which is more as annoying.

Then we have this problem for dating gallery sims: https://forums.ea.com/idea/the-sims-4-bug-reports-en/ls-gallery-sims-from-cupids-corner-have-high-pitched-voices/5025594

For 1+ 2 already mods exist; but I know not everybody uses mods. If you don’t use mods stay away from lovestruck, is not worth the trouble.

Thank you for a detailed answer :) I guess no Lovestruck and for rent for me ;p I play on the same save game since 2018 so no mods ;p

I kinda hoped at least life and Death would work I wanted to play as Voldemort ;pppp

I red somewhere that weddings events are fixed, have you tried them recently ?;p maybe its worth checking out for the sake of new world if you dont like to get married alot ;p
Xeriath Mar 21 @ 1:23pm
The most romantic wedding which my Sims gets are bathroom weddings. I purchased this DLC only for CAS/BB and Tartosa. I was never interested in the wedding part, so I don’t care that they are broken.

The problem with weddings is that one can work wonderful and your other wedding is a disaster. They added back the option that you can have a normal base game wedding. So they don’t get replaced anymore.

Residential Rental events can be turned off anytime. You are not forced to participate in them if worried about the cursed book event when it comes to bugs.

Thank you! I usually ignore events if my Sims have soomething more important to do, so that shouldn't be a problem. I was already looking in the Chayaputri place because my Sim won't have much money when she leaves; she's still working her way up the legal career, so she'll be a bit short on money for a while.

Thanks :D I'll keep both eyes peeled. So far, I didn't get the first bug in San Myshuno, so hopefully it stays that way. The cursed book event sounds... interesting. Maybe I'll just avoid it when I get there.
I backup my game regularly, but thanks for reminding me - I just remembered I haven't made that backup yet this week, so it's high time to do that :D

The legal career is cool, my vamp is a highest level lawyer, works 4 days per week and makes 60k. But that's several levels beyond level 10.

That's good to know :D She's currently I think at level 4, working hard on improving that Research & Debate skill - it takes forever, mostly because I'm playing rotational and there's only so much to be done in one Sim week. But she'll get there, eventually. For now, she's still living with her terrible husband (he's a criminal, btw), but by now they dislike each other so much, they won't sleep in the same bed. Marriage counselling isn't working at all, and I think she's already made up her mind because she's having an affair with another Sim, so it's only a matter of time until she can pack up and move out.

Marriage problems? Mean neighbours? Rich uncle?

We solve problems. Ask for cousin Vinnie to get a 10% discount on your first order.

Okay, jokes aside.
My vampire got three special degrees from university, so she started at a higher level, which was what I aimed for since I really wanted to unlock the rewards.
Sooooo.....
Are you using those magnetic research machines (funny, that thing has a 5.25" floppy drive)? My impression is that it's a bit faster.

Edit: get her through the bucket list, the second reward lets her learn faster (if you have L&D that is).

I love that 😁 Now imagine she calls that number and her husband is sent over to deal with the problem as he's working hard to become a boss... 😁

She didn't go to uni because I created her from scratch and didnt want to bother with that - I find college gameplay a bit tedious, and it seems to take forever. I currently have a Sim in college, third semester, and it's going to take him four to get his degree.

Using the research machine is a great idea, I didn't even think of that - thanks for that idea :D I know Sims can use it even when they're not in college - one of my other Sims has a club that meets at Britechester and uses the infrastructure even though none of the members have been to college.

She's working on her bucket list, too, and it's only going to be a matter of time until she gets where I want her to be. I think she'll also take some of the money in their joint account instead of wasting more on marriage counselling, and renting that place in Tomarang should be affordable, too.

I'd imagine the Boss of all Bosses giving him an earful about being mean to his wife (and suspiciously sounding like Marlon Brando).

There's an easel near that place in Tomarang, on a pier; have her paint some pictures, might help with money.
Also collecting gems and whatnot to sell them later.
