This. Even with a good, stable connection, downloading all DLCs in one go can take some time. I had to reinstall the whole game and all DLCs after a PC crash last year; at that point, that meant a total of around 50 GB because I have almost all available DLCs. I don't remember the exact amount of time, but it took at least an hour until everything was downloaded and installed again, maybe more.

It really depends on how strong your internet connection is, how many DLCs you own and if you use your computer for anything else during the download.

Install them all at once, I'd say. Then you'll have wealth of sim content to keep you entertained. I did this with Sims 2, installed the entire collection.
