The Sims™ 4

The Sims™ 4

My DLC doesn't all show owned on Steam
I bought stuff on both EA and Steam for Sims 4. The stuff I buy on here shows on EA but not all the packs owned in EA show on here. How can I get them to re-sync to show the same on both platforms?

That's normal. None of the packs you bought in the EA app will show up on Steam :)

What is weird is that if you buy dlc only from Steam (which is what I do) it is recognized as owned on EA App, but not recognized as owned on Steam if you buy from EA App. I am not 100% sure how it works if buying dlc from both EA App and Steam, but I do not think that someone should be allowed to purchase dlc twice such as for example not being allowed to purchase dlc on Steam if the dlc was already purchased on EA App first. For myself personally I would only buy The Sims 4 dlc from EA App if I had The Sims 4 basegame installed from EA App instead of Steam.

That is how it works, Steam will only ever show what you have purchased on steam, not other store fronts.
To avoid buying packs on Steam that you own through EA, i suggest going to those dlc's individual store pages on steam and hit the Ignore button on them.

Solid advice, especially if there are lots of packs that a player hasn't bought yet. With the number of packs out there, it's easy to lose the overview, and before you know it, you've bought a pack on Steam you already own.
not being able to sync DLC for the same game on the same platform feels like a very, very silly anti-competitive consumer rights violation, and i don't know why Steam and EA haven't fixed it yet. It's doing literally none of them any favours. (That I can think of, in about as long as it took me to type this. Probably there are a few. Idk.)
