Sim changes hair color when aging up child to teen in CaS
This is very unusual and have never noticed this before, but sims should not be allowed to change hair color or eyebrow color when aging up from child to teen in CaS which I noticed twice now from aging up a child to teen with the first time hair color changing from blonde to black but eyebrows stay blonde and another time hair color remains the same but the eyebrow color turns blue. Why is this happening? A bug?

Does this happened just with cc hair or even with Maxis ones? At a cursory glance it seems to happen because of fewer color swatches for children but I'm out of guesses why it should happen with Maxis own hairstyles... but then again... Yeah, it seems like a bug.

Definitely Maxis hair is bugged. Maybe cc as well, but I am not sure about cc hair being bugged.

I can say that I knew some kids growing up that when they were babies up through grade school that were called towheads. There hair was basically white. But as they matured to teen it turned black as coal. Course their eyebrows turned black as well. But as for game I have not experienced that.

I do not know if the bug applies only to aging up in CaS or if it also applies to aging up as well from birthday cakes. I am assuming it is only the former and not the latter. I have a tendency to age up sims younger than teen in the gallery just for fun to see what they look like as toddler and older if shared from the gallery. I do not really care that much about the elder lifestage and their is not a significant difference in appearances between teen and adult lifestages (although adults look slightly older than young adults unless if you add aging details/grey hair for adult lifestage making it easier to tell apart adult from young adult), but I most commonly age up sims between the infant and child lifestages in CaS.

I do that too but I have to say never had any of them change hair colors unless I do it.. The thing about about the ones I knew growing up is true and it apparently is very common with children born with white hair. I know in real life hair changes color but I have not seen it in this game unless it is done. I don't use mods so I am guessing that could be possible with mods. or and issue with a mod though.

But blonde hair and blue eyebrows makes a sim look ugly and I would rather it be the opposite with blue hair and blonde eyebrows instead of the other way around. Black hair and blonde eyebrows is also an ugly combo as well. Hair color and eyebrow color does not have to always match, but some combos with different colors where they do not match are ugly.

I will need to do more testing, but if it is mod related it is probably caused by my MCCC mod. Most of my mods have nothing to do with CaS and Maxis hair styles (dlc and basegame but may or may not be cc related as well) upon aging up are definitely bugged for me at least from CaS.

I use MCCC, but this isn't happening with my most recent teens. They're occults/Grimborn, although I don't know if that'll matter. Is that your only mod?
I do know that happens with Toddlers at times, though. I've often wondered how I'll get a redheaded toddler off two black-haired parents. xD

Edit for clarity: I use no aesthetic cc on my sims, have none in my game.. only gameplay and bugfix mods.

I use other mods, but none of them are CaS related besides MCCC after double checking besides the 100 traits mod. However, the 100 traits mod made by Chingyu should only relate to traits and not something else in CaS. I do not have any other explanation for this, unless if maybe the bug is caused by cc I am using. I use other mods as well, but they have nothing to do with CaS.

My guess would definitely be cc. It's been years since I've use aesthetic cc, but I used to get all sorts of oddities on my teens upon age ups.

But the eyebrows changing color upon aging up as well is strange and I do not have any cc eyebrows. It seems to be either the hair color changes upon aging up or the eyebrows, but not both even with a check mark being turned on for eyebrow and hair color matching. However, if I change the black hair to blonde it will match the eyebrows or if I change the blue eyebrows to blonde it will match the blonde hair.

I also noticed that I might not have the most recent version of MC Command Center, because it needs to be 2024.7.0 instead of something older than that. I thought that I had the most recent version of MCCC mod, but apparently I do not. I can test later to find out if it is either cc related or MCCC related, but it would definitely be less annoying if this bug is only CaS related and not something else such as other sim households aging up on their own and sims aging up from birthday cakes not changing hair color that results in hair and eyebrows not matching in color.

Are they Alpha hairs? I'd oftentimes see unnaturally coloured eyebrows on my teens when I'd used cc, most particularly if they'd age up with Alpha hair. Alpha cc creators don't always use bases which are Maxis Match, so you may end up with those mismatched brow colours.

After more testing done I noticed that not all sims get the hair color bug when aging up from child to teen, but just some. Also, I only noticed this bug when aging up from child to teen and not for younger lifestages such as for example aging up from toddler to child.
