Your steam account and EA account need to be linked. In order to use packs that are purchased on Steam, you will need in install the Steam version of Sims 4 only.
(If you have both the EA and Steam version on Sims 4 installed it will mess up where the pack files being pulled from and fail to install them in your game.)

Any packs you brought on EA will also be available in your steam version of them game so you dont need to worry about losing those, they just wont show up as being owned on your steam account but will show as owned in the EA app. As for any packs brought on Epic I have no idea if they will show in your game like EA brought packs.

This should be the default behavior:

Epic and EA app
As long as your EA account and Epic account are linked together, you should have access your DLC owned from both Epic and the EA app.

Steam and Epic:
If you are playing through Steam, you will not be able to access DLC owned through Epic. If you play through Epic, you will not be able to access DLC owned through Steam.

Steam and the EA app:
If you purchase DLC through Steam, you will not be able to transfer your DLC to the EA app- you will need to use the base game version in Steam. If your DLC is owned through the EA app, you should have access your DLC through Steam- you will need to own the base game through Steam and be sure your accounts are linked together.

There was/is at the moment a bug which let you use your Epic DLC with Steam, but if they fix that... yeah, don't complain about that. This is not intended.

Why does steam make me re-download the sims 4 game even though its already downloaded on my computer, and I have my accounts linked. I own the free version of the sims 4 through steam but all of my Sims DLC and main game are in the EA app I know I am supposed to be able to play through steam link. I'm trying to download the sims 4 through steam now to see if this helps.

Because you only get access to your Steam DLC if you have it installed via Steam and play it through Steam. Now that you install it via Steam and don’t remove it in EA APP... you will likely not get your DLC which you own per EA APP because you broke their stupid APP, congratulations :meown:!

For the correct behavior uninstall Sims 4 from Steam and EA APP. Then install it again ONLY from Steam. If this does not help remove Sims 4 + EA APP via Revo uninstaller and install it AGAIN only via Steam. Steam will download EA APP for you again.
