i cant open the game wtf

its been like this since the 29th of march. I've done everything to try open the game and it will not work. (including reinstalling) ever since they added infants the games been kind of broken for me. anyone else having trouble?

If you have your mods removed, have you tried this? Launch game via steam. Wait a few minutes because it's SLOW, even on my machine. O.o You should see EA Software window pop up 2 times. Keep waiting and it should load. If it doesn't, open task manager and close down all icons of EA (software and background service, BOTH) Then try to launch again via steam.

I frequently have it give me issues. If I go into EA while it's having an issue, I often see a yellow banner saying things are slow and I can't get it to show my sims game stats. If I see any of this going on I close EA in the task manager each time to make it try again, cleanly.

I'm in game now. It's a proven technique for me but my game is already set up, cache has been cleaned in game, EA and STEAM so now it's a matter of syncing ea with steam? It may be the EA server. Why they require server connection is beyond me. Okay, not beyond me but I don't like it one bit.

I'd like to add that I originally had sims 4 via origin. I bought it via steam. I used the guide to move all files over to steam so all is in one place. With it set up like that, it's also connected (both accounts are linked) and it's able to launch, though it likes to not start the first time quite often.

Restarting within EA software by clicking restart does not help me. You *could* reboot your PC but, I find it much quicker just to launch task manager and just stop the service and try to launch the game again (via steam)

Summary:

* Launch the game via steam and be patient by a few minutes at least. It's really slow.
* If the EA software window pops up 2 times and nothing for several minutes, open task manager and close all ea instances (should be 2).
* Launch via steam.

i also have uninstalled my mods to see if maybe a corrupted file had something to do with it but it didn't make any difference

I had to uninstall everything and reinstall, this worked and then began crashing again. I deleted all of my sims and that worked for about 3 days and now mid-game I just crashed again.

Hi! :) Until 1st of April my game worked fine, but since Sunday I can't start the game anymore. I click on play game in Steam, the it tries to open the EA App and the loop starts. At the end the error says something is wrong with the updates and the game is already running - but it's not... I also tried everything, uninstalling game, steam and ea app... I don't even use mods. It's very sad, because I very barely have time to play, like just one or two times per year :D And now it doesn't work. ... So we have to wait until EA fixes the bug? Or is there another solution?

i also cant play anymore. i get an error from EA saying that im not authorized to play the game to log in with a different log in, but i downloaded the game and purchsed the dlc/ add ons through steam.

If it says the game is already running, it's because the process never stopped. Open your task manager, find Sims 4 and/or EA, highlight it, click End Task. Rerun the game.

I would say there's a problem with the game because so many people are experiencing this, Maybe we wait until they make a statement on whats been going on. i have no idea what to do honestly

I had to uninstall my Steam version and re-download it through the EA app on my computer, and it finally opened. I did, however, lose almost USD $200 worth of packs and expansions. I'm very not happy, but I'm trying to figure out how to fix that.

that's terrible, i really hope your able to get your expansion packs back or atleast your money back for them. good luck

I found the solution just close steam and EA app with task manager. I reconnected to Steam and this time I opened the EA app and started the game from there and was able to log in just fine.
