EA is a multibillion $ company they can afford just about anything
I'd rather stick with playing Sims 3, thank you. Sims 4 is disappointing and Sims 5 is likely just going to be the same better graphics and less content ideal EA leans to. Ofc it'd be different for all. But for me, Sims 3's immersion is just unbeatable.

It's the same when big film studios are saying "Your latest movie which broke just about every record at the ticket sales worldwide didn't made enough money warranting a sequel/ gave the director enough leeway to be trusted helming a project which is a bit less mainstream".
It won't be profitable enough, because that is the only thing that matters for them. That's what we are to them: cows to be milked, not customers to be satisfied.

They can easily afford to make The Sims 5, but they do not want to. They just want us to simply pretend that The SIms 4 can be treated as The SIms 5 as well, but for how long EA is going to continue The SIms 4 before they abandon it is anyone's guess at this point. If The SIms 4 ever gets abandoned because EA decides they want to officially make The SIms 5 my best guess is that basegame would still be free to play, but permanently reduced prices as well for expansion packs and gamepacks at full price similar to the approach that The Sims 3 went towards where expansion packs drop to $20 at full price and gamepacks drop to $15 at full price, but stuff packs ($10) and kit packs ($5) would still cost the same.

Or they trying to push EA Play so you won't ever own your copy of the game just leasing it, making you pay much more in the long run as you would just buying it (yes, I know you are not owning TS4 and the DLCs, not even now; if Steam or EA are deciding to erase the game from their servers you will never be able to play the game anymore nor will you get your money back).

Your wording is wrong. EA can’t afford the Sims 5 version which they want to release because they want a Sims 5 version with a store which you find in a mobile game. They want customers which have the spending habit from mobile whales. The problem is the main customer of Sims 4 has still not developed this behavior. So they need to train their customers first in this direction, if they release that too soon people will just stop playing their game or stick with their old Sims game.

The first test is already running with their community creation kit. How many people are ready to spend money on content which doesn’t come from EA directly and how good sell this kit better than the kits which completely come from EA. If it’s good enough then the first step for a community market is already there. The best money is the money which you don't need to investing ANY money in the long run and the community creates your money for you.

Totally agree

It's a form of enshittification, and EA, like...no one would expect it to go in the other direction, of all companies, concerning greed. We're approaching times of poverty because the greed, the same greed, results in starvation, premature death etc. Of course the socially murderous greed is going to be in corporations for sure. We should expect this to continue, especially with EA. And EA will surprise pikachu face when it collapses.

That being said EA has less of an impact with that same greed, but it's a bad thing to have and makes for a worse product. guaranteed most ea staff are gradually paid less, or gradually expected to work more. Inhuman conditions are guaranteed. Why would EA stand out when literally every other company, every other government and every other society is dealing with the same ♥♥♥♥?

Companies need to make an average of about 10% on every project (stock market average). If it is likely that they'll make less, they will invest it in something else. Give the number of folks who demand in social media that EA be boycotted, making Sims 5 would be a risky project for investment.
Probably put the money into some sports game that doesn't have such dedicated detractors posting about piracy and boycotts.

They know if they realise 5 it be bad, and risk losing profit on sims 4, am sorry buts its true look at fifa and their cards they know their next game will continue to grow profits despite little effort on developing a game reusing the same assets and engine.

EA's gonna find out if they just keep it as sims 3 as possible but GINGERLY consolidate dlc to a more reasonable level that they'll find it's less work, costs less to make and they'll probably make a better game.

I need a term like "enshittification" except it's to describe innovation that makes everything worse deliberately. EA and many other companies did that. The art direction in 4 is FIRE though. Some of the best I've seen.

Cute.
Companies need to make 300% of what they invested in a project, better yet, 500%. Everything else is a great failure. Seeing what EA demands for DLCs I say they aim even higher. They will never change their price policy and, in a way, they can't.

How I know these things? Hilariously enough I did study economics.

They literally had a sims mobile game decade ago that didn’t need a storefront to be successful, sims 4 fans have already developed a mindset of spend money to get removed or lack luster content.
