So much for this.
Aren't you getting the concept of "Collecting Term"?
Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, Diwali, Bodhi, Donzhi and the Luciafest are all festivities celebrated in winter. None of them celebrates the birth of Jesus, although the Luciafest is about a christian martyr. If you personally want to call winterfest Christmas, go ahead, do it! Nobody gives a crap if you do. Nobody gives a crap if you don't. Nobody is gonna stop you.
BTW: I really don't know where do you read about us being against giving gifts or Christmas in general. Please, point me to the post where some one wrote this.
And finally it's so obvious you haven't played the event or the game in general; otherwise you would know Christmas gets mentioned. If you type "Christmas" in the search bar in Build Buy Mode you will find plenty of items, eight in total, not counting the ones which are plainly about it but aren't cataloged under the term; whereas Kwanzaa and Hanukkah are getting three each.
And why, you ask, are Hanukkah and Kwanzaa mention in their respective items? Because there are way less people knowing about those and might need a bit of explaining whereas Christmas don't need to be spelled out.
You might ave stepped outside approximately the past six weeks (the last three months in my part of the world) and saw Christmas-related items everywhere and nobody needs to be told what it is about. If EA would have banned the word from the game they wouldn't have put it as a search word.
I wonder why this discussion about Christmas has still continued on this thread. We already know that the cozy event does mention Christmas from some of the new foods added into the game. Christmas and even its wording is not being "excluded" from this event.
Is arguing the only point of this thread? Is there something that all of us can agree upon or at least most of us agree upon without continuous arguing? The problem with discussions about Christmas is that it is unfortunately highly controversial subject matter where it may be difficult to get everyone to agree upon without offending someone else. There is nothing wrong with this event.
The real issue with the world inst about people its about globalist agenda which is trying to break the west by breaking the culture of Europe so they can swoop in and "Save" us all by turning us into obedient drones. We should be fighting them not each other.
It would be nice if we could discuss about Christmas without mentioning politics or at least limit the discussion about politics on Steam. Both the left and right wing parties celebrate Christmas in some way at least in many American countries, at least some of the Pacific islands, Australia, South Africa and some other African countries, and most of Europe. Whether Christmas is more about Jesus or Santa Clause I think is more of a personal matter instead of something that should be debated on Steam which is a public forum.
"globalist agenda" is a dog whistle word for jews and therefore a conspiracy theory. Those are the ones you mean when you say "they", aren't you? Congratulations, it took 126 posts until finally somebody meantioned a CT!
And I really don't know which Europe you mean, in my country you can mentioned Christmas, even saying "Merry Christmas" (a funny aside: In a lot of european languages the word for Christmas doesn't even include the words christ or mass) and nobody gets upset about it or threatens you.
Is something lost in translation here or do you really think globalization is a conspiracy theory?
And I just lost all respect for you, whistle word, what a joke.
And I lost it long ago after you just insulted everybody without informing yourself beforehand.
Ah, well, it really isn't but I'm not going to argue that here. Merry Christmas.
So the reason to exclude Christmas and include others is that... everyone knows about Christmas? Is that your argument? "Because there are way less people knowing about those and might need a bit of explaining whereas Christmas don't need to be spelled out."
Humm.. Okay, where is Hanukkah and Kwanzaa mentioned in this event? They are mentioned only by having items you can include in defining your own holiday.
And since very few here know squat about Christmas, it would benefit the education of all if it was explained.
Yes, I get that the far left has "Winterfest", celebrated by almost no one. And Christmas is in the game because you can use it as a search word?
What does Jack Black acting as the devil pretending to be Santa Clause in this recent movie have anything to do with The Sims 4? EA and Hollywood are different industries where EA overall has more to do with gaming and Hollywood overall has more to do with movies, streaming, theater (Broadway and cinemas), magazines, and tv shows.
