Is the word "Christmas" offensive or something?
So far, this "cozy" event has avoided anything related to "Christmas" and not mentioned it once. Is it that offensive?
This "Event" has been nothing but an insult.

Well, it's the internet: all debates there are pointless. And seeing Xenon's defiant post above yours is so delicious for me. XD

Know what? I'm fine with Xenon oder others creating mods to revert the changes, then everyone can play how they like. I even found a modder who is creating a mod which will delete the gender related stuff and I'm fine with that, too. I'm playing with some very explicit mods, but no one will ever hear me stomping my foot yelling at EA to include that stuff in the game.

But demanding a multi-billion company which sells their products worldwide and has a huge LGBTQ+ fanbase to only catering to their own very narrow preferences is ridiculous. Doubly so if their stance is otherwise "no regulation of the markets, capitalism for the win!".

Oh, Xenon. Is this what you often call satire? Christianity has been one of the most violent religions throughout history. Did you really mean to comment this?

Also, did you read that there's a mod?
I was going overs some of the winter holidays in other Religions.
Nordic pagans had sacrificed a child before an oak for winter solstice.
The Durids burned a virgin on a tree, the first winter solstice decoration!
Aztecs had more days of human sacrifice than not. Children were a popular sacrifice.
The Incans had the Pachamama, made famous by Pope Frances, that they sacrificed children for fertility. in the sims version, that's just called a "harvest knife". Clearly they're tactful enough to not say what they were harvesting.
Just saying I've accepted enlightenment! No more of this violent giving gifts to Children tradition cuz some astrologers giving a baby gifts and all that. Let's get with other traditions, and put those harvest knives to good use!

And you may have noticed that all of this won't be appropriate for underage players and will never put in the game by EA. It's so obvious why are you writing this, stop acting like a child.

Spare a thought for us in the southern hemisphere :P
Should we be offended that it is a winter theme holiday, and feel excluded because it isn't summer? :steamsalty: ?
It doesn't jingle my bells at all. Just typical mass marketing strategy by a profit driven organisation.

90% of humanity lives in the northern hemisphere.
That's not all of humanity, ergo by inclusion logic, the Winter traditions of "winter fest" will now never be mentioned. We will only mention Winterfest Traditions from south of the Equator.

Congratulations, Xenon, now you understand it.

Do you honestly believe the southern hemisphere doesn't have a winter season?
What, is the Antarctic just covered in a real big white blanket?
Do you also believe the whole continent of Africa is a waterless desert?
Or South America only a gigantic rainforest?
Or Australia ony consist of the Outback and Kangaroos?

And what don't you understand by the word inclusion?

Omg! There's winter in the southern hemisphere! Really?
Gosh... So, Christmas really is in Winter down there, not summer like I thought. I am so wrong then! My bad. I thought in Australia the went to the beach as a cozy tradition.
And I'm pretty sure Australia also has spiders and snakes and everything bites with poison, and koala bears have clap, somehow...

It's really amusing watching you acting like a defiant child, please, continue. :)

You just seem like a hateful and unhappy person, Xenon. Not everything is about you or about Christianity. (We all know that's what this is about. Christianity - the religion of hatred and misery.)

Have a Happy Holiday, btw.

The people here suggesting particular offensive or negativity towards not having it specifically be Christmas-themed does not understand inclusivity, or that such includes Christmas. In addition to this discussion being essentially a joke. Or atleast I've seen either the Xenon guy or a similar guy who is either a jedi or jesus, have some "funny" posts on the Fallout 4 Steam Discussions.
But I appreciate your input--Happy Holidays to you.

Beaches, or a barbecue somewhere in the great outdoors. Snowmen don't hang around for long, and if you see someone wearing knitted woollen clothing, they probably went mad from all the chlamydia in Koala venom. Or had far too many beers in the sun :P

In Fallout 4 he can’t complain about it because the guards say it is Christmas if the holiday runs there! I am sure we would get the same topic from him there if they would say *happy holiday!*

People commonly call EA/The Sims 4 woke similar to Disney, but ironically The SIms 4 is one of the most commonly played games on Steam right now. Last time I checked not nearly as many people play The SIms 3 as The Sims 4 on Steam.

Merry Xmas ya'll, and if you don't celebrate it just feel excluded.
Same. Those words are pretty much synonyms, and even though the event isn't all that thrilling, I like the information you get on the various dishes when you hover the cursor over them. There may not be much gameplay here, but this time, the whole thing works at least, and it's pretty clear they wanted to focus on various traditions all over the world as well as the idea of people spending time together during those days - which everybody does differently. In our circle of friends, it's basically meeting up at one of the markets for mulled wine, or baking cookies together, or having dinner... come to think of it, it's all very food-related 😁

You are absolutely spot on! In my efforts to not be hateful, I will spew rabid hate at all Christians and claim that they are the source of all suffering in the world.
It makes so much sense now, why Christmas is forbidden in the game!
