Cannot build rocket ship

I'm trying to finish the Nerd Brain aspiration, and I simply can't build the rocket ship. When I place it, there's no interactions available. There's plenty of space, it's by itself in the middle of the lot. I have no mods, no CC, 100% vanilla game.

I first placed it on my own lot, and when that didn't work created a park and placed one there. Still no interactions. I waited to see if any townies would come and build it, but no one ever did.

So I looked through debug for a completed rocket I could just place, and couldn't find one there, either.

At this point I'm just waiting for the geek festival to show up so I can try to use that rocket, but I don't think there's any way of knowing when it will eventually be.

Is there no way to complete this aspiration without just using the aspiration cheats? I'll use the cheat if I need to, but I'd rather not if I can help it.

Edit: I have tried to place a lot from the gallery that had a completed rocket on it, but it placed as the unbuilt one, and I still couldn't interact with it.

I also created a club called Build this damn rocket, with Rocket Science being the only interest, and took them to the unbuilt rocket in the hopes that any of them would begin to build this damn rocket, but, nope.

The last thing I can think of before the cheating happens is to just wait until the geek festival eventually shows up, but I can't imagine that rocket is going to work, either.

Logic and rocket science levels? I can't remember for sure if logic was required though.

Logic is maxed, but rocket science level is still 0 because I can't begin to build the rocket.

logic skills at levels 3 and 6 gain a focused moodlet.

if you reach level 6 logic, you get the best out of the chess table and the +2 focused comes almost immediately., if you combine it with for example browsing simpedia from the computer or doing a quick upgrade of a coffee maker with a high level handiness, you'll gain the moodlet points needed for very focused.

When in focused or very focused moodlet, these allow your rocket skill xp gain to increase at a faster rate.

None of that is really relevant when the option to even build the rocket is missing. The problem isn't raising rocket skill, the problem is there's no way to build one. This is the only save I've ever had this problem on.

None of that is really relevant when the option to even build the rocket is missing. The problem isn't raising rocket skill, the problem is there's no way to build one. This is the only save I've ever had this problem on.

try reading a book, Rocket Sci, in the bookcase. it'll give you skillset which might help w the odd bug you've discovered.

I tried that too, no luck. You just can't interact with the unbuilt rocket ship at all. After waiting three weeks and Geek Con also didn't happen, I gave up and used the aspiration cheat to clear it.

This is a known issue caused by the festivals in the cottage expansion (basically the game gets stuck checking if you're at GeekCon, and therefore will not let you build the rocket). It hasn't been officially patched, but if you google the problem you'll find a whole bunch of info about it (including a far better technical explanation) and a mod that fixes it.
