The Sims™ 4

The Sims™ 4

Karcel Aug 15, 2022 @ 8:48am
First time playing sims 4. My Sim is angry a lot. Why?
Started my very first game of sims 4. Managed to build a small house with standard kitchen, living room, bathroom and bedroom.
Got a job in the military and I am doing quite well there, already got promoted 3 times.
However, my Sim gets angry a lot! I don't know what I can do about it.
When my Sim goes to work with all his needs met he gets sad at about 50% time left at work and then he gets home and is "Very angry". Why? It doesn't tell me why he is angry.
All it says "I am sick of the voices in my head telling me what to do." and "Anxiety because of unfulfilled dreams." What dreams? What are his dreams? Where can I see?
I also couldnt take part in any festivities at all. The job, the Sim's basic needs that need to be fulfilled. Takes all the time of the day. How in the world do I find time to fulfill these festivites missions?! And everytime I don't do them I get a debuff and my Sim is sad.

If I lived my Sim's life then I would be over the moon.
Minimalist but decent house.
Good job and being promoted rather quickly.
Living on a cozy island in a nice town.
Friends in the fitness club who love to interact with me.

Whats my guys problem? How is he so sad? I tried to model this guy after me. Only thing I am missing is a pet.

Also when I google "How to make my sim less angry" all I get is "How to get my sim angry."
Apparently I am very alone with this problem because noone seems to have asked this before and everyone wants to know the exact opposite.

.

Skip work for a day or if you want use a vacation day. Then you have time for other things you want to do. You only need to work if you want in this game. There are lots of other ways to get Simelons and you already seems to like your house.

reads like your sim has fear. That particular fear can be overcome by completing a want (which is the thought bubble above your sims head in the bottom left of the screen) and then talking out that fear with another sim.

I already talked with another sim and tried to fix it but my Sim is literally in a perpetual circle of Happy, sad, very angry. Over and over and over. One of my goals was to get a pet. He got a pet, was happy for a short time and wouldn't you look at that, he is angry again.
I literally don't know what to do. It's impossible to make this guy happy.

What traits does your sim have? Also look at the moodlet when he's angry, there's usually a description of what the feeling is coming from.

I strongly suspect erratic, but i haven't played an erratic sim in a long time so i can't tell. If it is erratic then these moods come on by random and there is no way to prevent it or stop it from happening until the sims trait in CAS is changed.

Well, I give Hot-Headed to the sims I want to be angry :P

If your sim has a military job, I think that comes with the Strangerville pack doesn't it? If I remember correctly, that pack has a storyline that can mess with your sims until you complete it. I don't have that pack however, so I could be completely wrong.

Other things to check would definitely be traits. Erratic causes massive mood swings, and hot headed will make them angry for no reason from time to time. You can turn off wants and fears in the options menu as well if you'd like.

The opposite actually. However without spoiling anything around it, the only mood you'll get is something else completely and it triggers in the early afternoon and it lasts a number of hours before it stops.

Thanks for the answers. So far I haven't found a solution. I have one problem where my Sim thinks he has worries for his future but then I used an option where he hyped himself up and went to work content with what job he has.
But its something about his dreams that is messing him up apparently. He has some dream that isn't fulfilled and that makes him depressed. One of his dreams was to have a dog which I already fulfilled but I don't know what else he wants.

There was an update adding wants and fears to the sims recently. Your sim has a fear of unfulfilled dreams. When my sims get this fear they have to complete one of their wants/whims and then discuss fears with another sim. I'm not sure if this was only before the update, but you can go into game options and turn on whims before you load your save file. Hope this helps. :)

Just to add a bit more on to this, after you complete the want and discuss fears with another sim, you could wind up getting this fear again if you don't complete any of their wants for a certain amount of time. And yes, you can still turn them off in the options though I don't know if that would wipe a fear a sim already has.

Also (could just be a bug on my end) I've noticed that I can't get rid of a fear unless it's showing above the sim's profile pic next to the wants when I complete whatever task is needed. Sometimes that bubble just comes and goes, but the fear is still there in the simology tab.

Is that for all fears, or a particular fear ctuck88? (Getting rid of them).

Oh thats interesting, thanks for sharing. Guess I just have to wait for a bugfix then.

The bugs are usually fixed only if a lot of players want them to be, so click ME TOO on the first post, and describe your issue in the linked thread to bump it, if you recognise the issue.
