Not enough space.

I bought the game but I am having a hard time on this low-spec laptop. It runs a bunch of things perfectly fine so I wanted to go bigger (for reference: 4gb laptop can run 8gb applications lag-free) but it won't even allow me to download the game. Is there anywhere else I can download it or is this the only option now that i've purchased it? Do I have to wait until I upgrade devices?

Does your computer actually meet the specs required? It doesn't matter if it plays other stuff fine.

Not enough space sounds to me like you don't have enough space on your harddrive.

Sims 4 needs a lot of space on your harddrive. For downloading it shout not matter what specs your laptop has. For playing though it does matter.

i'm not sure i understand in what context you mean by a 4gb laptop which can run 8gb applications.

The 4/8GB thing is your memory (RAM), but the problem is a lack of hard drive space (drive "C"), you probably need to make some room by deleting older programs, save old photos to an external drive and so on. Look at the hard drive symbol in "My computer", it probably has a red bar with "soandso GB left" next to it.

I found out it's because I got lazy when cleaning the computer and simply hit "delete" instead of going through the whole process+i had unity and other heavy programs installed. the disk space was in the red and now it's back to normal.. time to go cry
