The Sims™ 4

What are some MUST HAVE DLC's?
Havent played the game modded yet but im looking to play vanilla a while. The game feels pretty empty without any expansion packs. Did a thread some time ago but im doing it again since the DLC's are on sale.

Cats & Dogs is much better than Horse Ranch. Biggest problems with Horse Ranch are apartments, horses live a lot longer than pets, and lot needs to be specifically designed for horses. Reason why according to neighborhood stories I have adopt pet turned on sometimes, but have horse rescue always turned off. If I want more horses in my world it is only from lots specifically designed for horses and the horses themselves are either added from gallery (including a household that already owns a horse or a household that only has horses) or rescue a horse manually.

Some Sims Dlcsthat aren't really needed are....
Dine Out: Restaurants are pretty cool but don't change much. Sims can invite yours over to a restaurant but that very rare.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorta cool but....
Get to work: I mean this is a cool dlc but I don't really enjoy it much since the Aliens in it can ruin families as they'll probe your sim and force them to have babies. (I think my sim's wife was pretty mad that he got probed while she was pregnant) Get to work doesnt change careers much does add a sorta unique interaction in your sim's work place.

Werewolfs: I never really liked this one since Werewolf just attack people and destroy your furniture.

NEEDED SIMS DLCS

Cats and Dogs: This dlc is so cute and fun! Seeing the adorable cats jump on counters and seeing your cat use an invisible litter box is Super funny. But the most interesting aspect is the vets. I swear, the vets are so awesome compared to restaurants and retail. You have to put work in at the vet as you need to diagnose and care for sim's pets!

Seasons: Needs no explanation. its just awesome and cool.

Get famous: I promise this is a good one. Having your sim as a celebrity is pretty cool as you can grind for followers and get sponsorship and fan mail. Turns your dreams of being a famous youtuber sorta real.

City living: Pretty cool. Apartments are small but I always find myself in the city by the all unique sims and actives to do. Pairing this with get famous is really fun

TRASH DLCS. DO NOT DOWNLOAD

My first wedding or my happy marriage? (one of those is an anime cant remember.)
Regardless this dlc just destroys weddings as it glitches and destroys everything! This has been the most notorious dlc in sims 4 history!

THats all the ones I cant think at the moment but I hope this helps someone at least.

Most gamepacks are not "must have". Only exception is Strangerville and maybe Parenthood (especially if you already own Growing Together) with the latter of which does not add a new world , but occult gamepacks in general seem to be popular on Steam. Stuff packs and kit packs are not must have either, but last time I checked the highest rated stuff pack right now on Steam is Home Chef Hustle. The only must have dlcs are mostly expansion packs, but you do not necessarily need to own all of them. Especially Horse Ranch, Discover University, and perhaps For Rent (might be underrated on Steam but not necessarily better than High School Years, Get to Work, and Eco Lifestyle).

They should have made all DLC's 60-90% off instead of random stuff here and there. Price of all them still ammounts to an arm and leg.

the ones that give you most extra content
Cats and Dogs for sure is one of my favorite DLC's - i just always loved that you could have your own vet clinic. Plus who doesn't love to have some pets. Plus on top of cats and dogs that you can either create while making your sim or adopt after the fact there are some cute extras for in the world one of them being the hamsters/hedgehog dudes you can also have. The things literally do science experiments and throw raves in their cages. I don't know it was just kind of cool.
I also have been really liking Get to Work at the moment because i can go to work with my Sim instead of staying at home with no one if other people are away at school or work as well. I wish you could go do more careers and that it didn't cost so much to start up your own retail space on there because, well, money and i just refuse to use a cheat code for more money as my current household started as a one box challenge type thing i was doing to entertain myself. Then i got bored and decided to venture into the wide world.

This might have been long winded but I hope that it helps.
