I really wish it was true multi-purpose lots though and you could put more then residences in them. I'd love to have businesses on the ground floor with apartments above. You can sort-of hack it with LittleMsSim's mods but its not the same.

Then we still have the invisible clutter bug which will bloat your save: https://forums.ea.com/idea/the-sims-4-bug-reports-en/cl-du-fr-eco-objects-cluttering-worldscollectibles-disappearing/5036144
I don’t recommend purchasing it, except you only want the CAS/BB items. Don’t touch the gameplay(residential rental) until they fix these two bugs.
Another problem with For Rent is if you own every world like I do then you would have to play one saved game for a long time before being worried about their not being enough lots to house every sim. Me not being worried there not being enough lots for every sim to have a place to live because of me owning every world is also the reason why I always have "move out" turned off from neighborhood stories, but always have 'move in" turned on. When you combine Businesses and Hobbies expansion pack where you cannot merge small business with residential rental along with potentially scary bugs that are game breaking, owning every world, haunted residential from Paranormal is a different lot type from residential rental, and me not necessarily wanting to play with residential rental in all of my save files that would help explain why I think that this expansion pack could be easily skipped. The only expansion packs that i like less than For Rent are Horse Ranch (because I do not play with nectar, horses, and farm animals that much which are the main selling points of Horse Ranch) and Discover University (adds lots of nice things, but the main selling point of this dlc that involves universities is long and tedious).
