Is it possible to have a residental rental and a home business on the same lot?

Pretty much the title. I own Businesses and Hobbies but not For Rent yet. The only reason I would want to pick up For Rent is if i could make a building with businesses downstairs and apartments upstairs. Is it possible to do this or are they two entirely separate lot types?

one would be retail while the other residential rental. So would guess not possible. I am wonder with you retail on bottom then make small studio apartments. Have your sims live in on then roommate out the rest. Maybe once they are filled roommate the last one then move out.? I had a house I enlarged and turned each bedroom into roommate place. Made pretty good off of them. Had like 6 rooms rented..plus had a maid and butler but that would stop if I ever moved out. They would be studios so think they would need to hire their own anyway

Combining both would be cool, but I do not think this is possible because "small business" and "residential rental" are specifically labeled as different lot types.

Retail and small business on The SIms 4 are not the same thing. Retail from Get to Work and small business is from Businesses and Hobbies.
