How To Stop Sims Randomly Wearing Costumes
Occasionally when I start the game and go to one of the many Households with different Sims I've created in the game, when I open their Household they'll be in a stupid hot dog costume - which isn't in ANY clothing category in CAS. Is there any way to stop this permanently? Sure, I could just go into CAS and choose an everyday outfit, but why? I don't see the point of these costumes.

Surely other players have had this?

are they just wearing it or is it set as one of their outfits? sometimes i will find my sims wearing cloths i do not have assigned to any outfit slot however this is easily fixed by clicking on my sim and simply hitting "change outfit"

if your sims outfits are being changed then only thing i can think of is a mod

I've had that happen with two of my teenage Sims today. Even though I changed everything in CaS, the girl would still have runny make-up while her twin brother wore nothing but a shirt and shoes. Clicking on them and have them change the outfit worked like a charm.

Very often, my unplayed Sims will show up during some event or other (like a festival in San Myshuno) wearing clothes I never, ever assigned to them. It's probably an autonomy thing.

Yeah, same here, I think its hard coded this way as the game uses available households to populate the different areas. If there is a themed event going on, the game makes those sims change the outfit.

If there is a way to stop it, I would love to know it too.

There is a way to stop this with MCCC but I've never been bothered to work it out, change outfit or MCCC Dresser when I load the game are good enough for me.

Festivals- if you have City Living- can cause households to wear unplanned outfits. If you have holidays in your game that can also be an issue (for example, if I am playing a household with Winterfest, any Sim which walks past the lot will switch into some kind of Santa outfit).

That reminds me of the one time one of my Sims went to the festival of lights in Mt Komorebi. She ran into two of her parents' friends there, and for some reason, the game had decided to duplicate said friends so all of a sudden, they had identical twins with the same names. That was one of the weirdest things the game has ever done 😂

Is this stupid random outfit which the devs like so much. Sims can have a ton of random outfits. As people wrote MCCC has the option to disable it and if you want to disable even more go to bienchen and use her situationoutfitsbegone.

I use this mod and it works beautifully, I'll attest. I'm not sure if it's been updated for Lovestruck as I don't own the EP. If you do give the mod a test and still see LS costumes, then it's probably yet to be updated for that EP. I can't be sure of catfish and the likes, but it should at least rid your worlds of hot dogs. ;))

mcc command center mod, in mcc commode options you can set sims use party clothes instead the game generate randoms ones, with this i don't have randoms clothes for my sims at festivals. this is one of the most famous sims 4 mod, with it, you can control all in the game, population, number of birth (human and animals) for preventing over population and all functions the game use, this mod give you control of everything, try it. it also detect in game scripts errors and warn you when one is found, there is also a support on discord for helping you when you have errors
