reaper's rewards quest is bugged
i started the quest then i had a list of objectives to complete, but, since i moved my household to another house, the task list of the quest is blank, only the popup wwindows still here but blank, no more list of objectives, i tried to play with another household, same issue, tried a new game : same issue, tried to repair the game, still to be the same issue, so i can't continue the quest....

You should have started a new game and not move household. Just stay on the same lot until completing the event, but it is unfortunate you are experiencing this bug. People are complaining various other issues with bugs related to this limited time event as well that is supposed to be fun instead of annoying people.

I think you should stick to the one household, and, also not move off their home lot until the tasks are complete. I completed the tasks, but I found the whole thing a bit tedious, not sure if I will have the stamina and patience to do this for several weeks more.

Try the accepted solution, maybe this fix it.

EA needs to drop dead, all the money from overpriced DLC and cant even make an event work, f, u ea
p.s if you want the event to work remove accountDataDB.package file, but it wont work forever cuz mine re-broke, i dont use any mods either

With all due respect, James, how are Sims players supposed to magically know all of the rules and restrictions EA has imposed on this event when we weren't told anything beyond "Business as usual! Do the quest and enjoy your items!"?

The quest popped up when I was in San Myshuno and I couldn't grow an apple or cherry tree in my apartment's living room. So I switched to my Conservationist Sim in Windenberg.

Everything seemed to work until I read the Ambrosia Newsletter. Then the quest vanished. Poof!

The quest randomly starts at some arbitrary time and location. They could have based it in Willow Creek or some base game location. Don't be in a residential rental. Don't be in an apartment in San Myshuno. Don't switch Sims. Don't have mods installed. Plus Much Much More!

Now what would you pay? Apparently over 1200 Canadian dollars in my case.

It would be nice if EA mentioned all of that beforehand, but EA - the King of Battle Passes and Loot Boxes - didn't even have a clue how - or even if - this was going to work. They should have taken it for granted that it it wouldn't work. Just like everything else they've done with this game.

EA needs to fix this issue as quickly as possible before this event ends which I think is the main point across. It should be embarrassing for them to have this event be broken for some people and I am not necessarily trying to defend EA in every way, but good thing there is an option for completing this event for free instead of it being locked behind a paywall and there are various other ways to get most of this stuff besides the new lot trait from custom content (cc) or perhaps by downloading from the gallery even if you do not have them unlocked yet. While I did not experience any bugs preventing me from completing week 1 unfortunately this event is broken for some people as well. It is also unclear what I am supposed to do for week 2 such as continuing from my newest saved game or starting another new game just for week 2 and hope that it does not break for me so that way I can proceed to week 3.

It would just have been helpful if EA laid out a few rules for this event. It would have been simple:

"Start a new household in a new save in Willow Creek, Oasis Springs, or Newcrest for the purposes of this event." Something along those lines.

I'm going to re-install American Truck Simulator this Saturday. Buy a couple of States I'm missing. Then I'm just going to drive my truck in a game that actually works and leave EA in my rear-view mirror.

I've been buying EA products since Music Construction Set for my old Atari 800XL in the early 1980s. Over 40 years ago. The last EA product I'll ever buy was the Cozy Bistro kit. I'm done. Everything since "werewolves" has been a broken, unfunny joke.

Either that or I'll just install Wicked Whims and literally say "♥♥♥♥ it".

removing this file also remove your rewards from previous event... so you choose the new event or all the rewards you already own

already tried nothing change, i tried all, the only way i found working is to remove accountDataDB.package file, but if you do that, this will reboot reaper's quest but also remove all your rewards you unlocked in previous events.. so not a solution, and this is not our job to fix their game ! that's not normal, with the price of this game, that doesn't work !
Xeriath Sep 27, 2024 @ 4:37am
You can just drag the original accountDataDB.package back as soon you complete the first quests from reaper event; This was written in the solution. They should just give the old rewards via SDX for all players and admit they screw it up the first time.

I generally agree that it should work without issue, as long people don’t use mods. There even reports from players which never used mods or play on console, and this should definitely not happen with this kind of *Battle-Pass*.

Especially since the whole thing is allegedly designed in a way that actually allows you to switch households instead of being tied to a single one that has to do all the tasks. So far, I didn't have any issues with the event itself and managed to complete all the tasks by deviding them up between members of the household I'm currently playing. But it's EA. Who knows what's next.

I'm a rotational player, with seven households at the moment, and I really want to stick to my rotational gameplay for the next weeks instead of playing just one household because otherwise, the event might be messed up. People over on the EA forums said that you can switch between households for this, at least for every week of the event, but I guess I'll just wait and see before switching back and forth. I really don't need more bugs after that annoying Lovestruck thing has made a reappearance yesterday - the one that empties the romance bar and makes your Sims work hard on romantic satisfaction. I thought I had gotten rid of that but apparently, it pops back up after you haven't played with that household in a while 🙄 Fixiing this was btw a lot more work than doing the tasks for Grim.

With or without mods the rate of it loading up correctly is not great at all. I'm not bothering to mess around with the settings, it's obvious yet another EA botch job, like usual. They'll fix it when they fix it. Luckily there is a month and a half left, so they can bring it out in a patch in a month or half a month from now and i can clear the whole thing in one go if i wanted. that's if it works.

There is going to be another small update next week, I don't know if that will include bug fixes for the Reaper Rewards.

Then again, EA has never released a patch that didn't break something else. Just make this "event" an SDX drop. You're going to have to do it eventually, EA. Meanwhile you just lost yourself a whale. I'm the guy who's been buying your crap since the early 1980s.

I'm done EA. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ finished with you.
