Cannot place floor tiles
I have played the sims since 1999 (played 1 through 3)... I am new to 4 and its vastly different. I am trying to expand on an existing house but when I expand on the walls from the second story to match the first story, I am unable to place down tiles even though the transparent white grid shows that I should be able to. There are no Youtube videos that I have found that addresses this. It seems I am the only person having this issue and I am a sims vet. Thank you

You need a defined room or deck first in Sims4 before you can place floor tiles there on anything but base ground level. It could be you haven't fully enclosed the space yet that you're trying to create a floor on. Walls or Fences count towards enclosing a space.

There's a yellow outline for ceilings and floors. Click on it and it'll give you the option to add the floor/ ceiling.

Sometimes when I pull a wall out on a second floor I run into that. I usually add partial room then mix the walls and then I am able to place floor. I didn't know about the pulling the yellow line. I usually only see it when I put a basement in
