Vampire bugs and other occult bugs

For some strange reason the dark form for me keeps the vampire eyes and vampire brows, but I am unable to keep them for the normal form. I lose them and the game forgets I had them. Additionally, I noticed another recent bug when vampires are done fighting or even when fighting against human sims my vampire does not immediately turn back to normal form and stays in dark form meaning that I have to switch back manually. With the case of the vampire eyes and brows bug it appears to have the vampire eyes and brows in both forms from CaS, but not for gameplay mode where it only appears that way in dark form. Edit: according to Xeriath's bug report this bug is not limited to only just vampires meaning that it also affects spellcasters, mermaids, and werewolves as well.

So apparently nobody has noticed any of these problems with vampires? These are not game breaking bugs, but they are annoying.

After more testing done I tried to do play the game without mods, but the vampire eyes and brows are still missing from normal form. I also tried deleting that save and starting a new game without mods and cc, but the vampire is still bugged. I think that this is not mod/cc related.

My vamp still swaps automatically after he feeds on his targets or fights his target. I know that this feature tends to bug out if you play faster as with speed 1.

Thank you. Also, after more testing done without mods and cc from an older save in my gallery my vampire's vampire eyes and brows are not missing in normal form. My only explanation behind this is that maybe my other version has been corrupted as the only explanation as to why meaning that the vampire features only stay in normal form if the save has not been corrupted, but apparently it is dlc related and not mod/cc related.

Apparently EA knew about this for at least three weeks and hopefully these occult bugs will get fixed soon. Not just for vampires, but for other occult sims as well such as mermaids, spellcasters, and werewolves.

My theory is that this bug for live mode is triggered when going into CaS more than once with occult sims. When starting with something you recently created/added from the gallery the vampire features and other occult features do not bug out with normal form, but they do bug out if going into CaS more than once. It will require more testing, but it is strange that only my original save is not bugged out in normal form with my vampire.

I think that I found the culprit. Going to CaS more than once does not trigger the bug apparently, but add a new household from the gallery triggers the bug for vampires. Another thing I could try to do is see what happens if I place the vampire in an "other household" category and see what happens. First visit the sim as some the other household to see if the vampire features are bugged and second switch back to the other household in hopes that the vampire is not still bugged. Apparently the household for vampires gets corrupted once it gets involved in certain types of interactions.

The vampire sim bug also appears after turning a sim into a vampire. I tried moving vampire to a different household, but still bugged even if visiting from a different household. I could also try testing it from one of my older saves instead of a new save. The problem with new saves is that it does not have enough vampires. If I for example to defeat a weak vampire for completing aspiration it is harder to do that with a new save.

So the longer I play as a vampire even if I ignore turning a sim into a vampire with "vampire creation" and ignore adding any new sims from the gallery the likelihood of losing vampire features increases while playing as a vampire. For example if I want a master vampire, which even the MCCC mod does not allow this cheat for vampire ranking apparently, that takes a long time to accomplish and my vampire features on normal form bugged out before I could reach that ranking. Additionally, turning sims into vampires appears to be bugged as well meaning that even if I wait a few days for a sim to turn into a vampire that does not happen meaning that I have noticed more than one bug with vampires and I have to cheat for completing the vampire family aspiration. Edit: After more testing done while you cannot use the MCCC mod to increase vampire ranking from clicking on sim you can use the computer with MCCC mod to make them gain vampire experience faster apparently.

If the sims have the fear of the dark he will not turn into a vampire even if you bite them and wait. Vampires are blacklisted to get this fear so you need to remove this fear from them. Sims can gain fears if you don’t play them, especially many sims get the fear of the dark if you have season and if they spawn on a lot which has an active thunder/snowstorm.

It is not a bug, but rather a design choice from the team. The best way to *fix* this would be just to disable that NPC can get fears.

I tried turning sims during the daytime and it did not work. There was no thunderstorm or snowstorm taking place during this either. I appreciate the advice, but it is annoying that a mod has to be used to turn off fears with vampires.

NPC can get fears in many ways, this is just the likely most time it happens they get this fear. Don’t blame me, it is just how Sims 4 works. Many features are never got thinking through right, and you see this in all places for Sims 4.

They would benefit if they would listen a little more to their fans especially their hardcore fans which I have no doubt know the game better as the devs which just make the code for it. (This is the most case for many games. You normally don’t play your own game in such a passion way as your fans)

I am not blaming you, but this also means that turning sims into vampires could potentially be permanently broken on console (which fortunately I do not play The SIms 4 on console) if mixing in seasons with vampires or at the very least annoying for console players if turning them into vampires sometimes does not work, because they are not allowed to use mods.

I finally found you my friend, i have the same issue. Thought mods were in charge of this bug- deleted half of facial mods. when it didn' fix the issue, tried taking all of them out,same resault. new sims are glowing good- tested all occults. So after last update and dlc release our safe files are corrupted, I really want someone to fix the safe files or at least the bugfix to be released as I lost any will to continue my 4 months save of vampire+spelcaster legacy.

same thing. I just wanted to play as a vampire after many years and now this bug comes along..
