it not a upgrade it not a sims 5 it just a mobile game
Agree..no way it can go open world from its current version without a total rewrite. It is not as simple as combing them and making them open world. Current format is not created for open world. Total rewrite would have to be done.
At least seasons, toddlers (because they have been around much longer in The Sims franchise than infants), preteens, color wheel, apartments, and even height sliders are apparently supposed to be basegame in addition to maybe (but not officially confirmed or at least not that I am aware of) infants, swimming pools, ghosts, basements, pets (or at least cats, dogs, and horses), and something similar to Get to Work and Dine Out being basegame as well when Project Rene first comes out, but for better experiences with that kind of stuff (except for color wheel) there unfortunately might be micro transactions involved as well. It is just that none of us know the full extent of this yet, but overall I am not excited about Project Rene and even less people are going to be excited about this game after finding out it is not going to be The SIms 5 that was officially confirmed by EA.
It could be a potential red flag if the graphics of Project Rene including even on PC look similar to previews of this game while it is still in Alpha. If the graphics alone are not enough to turn people away from this game it could be the micro transactions instead. Especially if the micro transactions are worse than The SIms 4 because of Project Rene being included on mobile and being free to play to begin with. I would also be surprised if Project Rene is going to be open world, because I am not expecting it to be similar to The SIms 4 not being open world. If I am not mistaken the last SIms mobile game to be open world was The SIms Freeplay which has some similarities to The SIms 3 but based on mobile, but the problem is that The Sims 3 was abandoned once The SIms 4 came out officially.
Oh yeah, surely what we saw isn't final, but are we expecting anything too different? We kinda know Maxis style, so we know more or less what to expect.
What I mean was about the gameplay, everything we saw in the alpha reveals is the same game frame as Avakin. You will have one character, and possibly start with 1 free home location. Then, you can visit places (hubs) where you may or may not have activities, where other people may or may not be, and doing those activities will score you 1 freebie item or game credits. Jobs are just in-loco activities, nothing as "fancy" as in TS4. You will be able to purchase additional homes, at a premium cost. Your avatar? 10 per cent of store items will be available for standard game currency, the rest is locked behind real life bucks and running on a very limited time. Dances are locked, emotes are locked, clothing is locked, tattoos are locked, everything will be locked behind a paywall. It will be a game exclusively for the whales.
I might be wrong... But sadly, I am probably right.
The only thing which is missing here is that it will have a multiplayer. Companies love multiplayer because then your ingame store is much more profitable. People want to show off their shiny objects which they purchased. It is stupid but it works.
