If you add mod, the most basic thing is to NOT update your game with them. Just don't update it at all. You can play with a not-update version.
If you want update your game, you need to take off your mods but some mods will break game's code not matter what so your game will be unable to be correctly update.
Normally, you need to uninstall completely your game with revo free version,
then install with the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ update,
then install your mods with the good version of them for the game updated.
But you need to know that your save will be not work with the new version, so old player, like me, advice to go this if you want to restart the game, if not, just don't update.
It's exactly the same thing as with Skyrim SE. Bethesda have game updates as well. They can't be expected to test all mods created by users every time there's a game update.
they break their stuffs many times, and mods helped fixed those!
chip in only when they can STOP breaking their product, or FIX their own zhits in ACCEPTABLE and PROFESSIONAL terms.

But as others have mentioned EA is not responsible for updating mods and/or making sure they work with EA updates.
From what I gather from those that use mods the modders once they get their mods working again seems to help the game. Maybe EA should hire them to do what their people can't
even without mods, they still can't properly update the things.
That’s way she goes(when you mod).
Sucks after large updates, but often it is a hurry up and wait, or bite the bullet and play vanilla till least know bulk are updated and troubleshooting the list won’t be such a hassle.
For what it’s worth I’ll share my own approach too when in your shoes. One way that helps is to start by breaking the list in half. This can save chasing your tail when it might be one mod causing an issue. If so, further break down the suspect block into smaller groups until you’ve isolated the culprits.
Next, start off with smaller groups (50 at a time or something) until identified all the bad “clusters”. Last, say f it and disable them all, play vanilla and rebuild the mod list in a few weeks knowing I barely used or saw half of the mods anyways.
It's known as the 50/50 method.
I wonder when the dev will fix this.
You need a nearby boat to go fishing.
