Thank you. The oven catching on fire and not not needing to spend money to replace it should be an obvious bug as well that many people and not just a few playing The Sims 4 should be noticing. I have never seen either bug before, but I think they are both basegame related.
My sim visited her possible (and then not) in-laws and their oven started burning but it got damaged. Repaired it with the spell too.
So not everyone is noticing this bug. Maybe it is a bug only related to For Rent? It was a residential rental unit when this bug took place.
I doubt it and I did not use any upgrades on the oven. Also, the oven that caught on fire was basegame, but my sim only had level 1 cooking skill. She could have died but because of me not wanting my sim to die I put the fire out. The oven that caught on fire was an expensive basegame oven (but not the most expensive) instead of coming from dlc.
This.
Level 1 cooking is a lesson in how to not burn everything.
True, but my oven should have been damaged from the fire and was not. My game mistakenly thought my oven was fine from the fire meaning I did not have to spend any simoleons to replace it. However, as mentioned previously apparently not everyone (but I am not sure why) is experiencing this bug from the most recent big update.
Maybe all of the laptops in sims 4 are Macs.
Any computer I think does not work and especially desktop computers with this bug. I have not tested yet what happens with laptop computers when they break down. I cannot repair the broken computers at home or even at community lots.
That could be a newer issue, then. I'd guess the only solutions would be the mod I'd mentioned or simply buying one of those very expensive, unbreakable computers (unless those are also bugged). Of course that's easy enough with a money cheat. Even if players are opposed to cheats, it may still be a better option than dealing with ongoing bugs.
Edit: I should also note. I always have a caster I'm playing and also use LMS's Improved Practical Spells mod. This mod includes an additional Upgradios spell which instantly upgrades everything without those undesirable Eco Lifestyle featured upgrades. So my sorcerers instantly upgrade the house. I'm not certain if that offers any additional prevention, however, because vacation lots are also unbreakable whilst not upgraded.
