I think reading spell books is broken.

No option to learn a spell or potion from spell books. Is that just me or does anyone else have a spellcaster?

it's broken.
Moved mod folder to desktop
Started a new game.
Made a spellcaster.
Sent them to Disneyland Magic Kingdom.
Buy needs potion book
Can not study book
Broken.

Edit: I guess its been reported on the "EA (no)help" page. I went to "me too" the problem but it I cannot log in. EA is one of those companies that has a protective firewall of a webpage that defeats all customer complaints. :-)

same problem here went back to a previous save could not read a spell book there either tried to read one from the bookshelf still would not let me

I wonder if this problem was caused by the recent update that was supposed to fix bugs, but apparently caused other new bugs to take place as for both basegame and dlc even without mods.

I have a household of 8 people. 3 vampires, 2 spellcasters, 2 children and a human grandpa. My spellcasters were collecting tomes like stupid because my vampire engineer died from electrocution and I wanted to revive him at all costs (excluding cheats, that's my last option if he goes to the other side).
Now all my tomes are grayed out and I can't read any of them, so I have to constantly travel back and forth between worlds. My prankster is a full-time comedian and my practitioner is a freelance botanist. Both have no idea about untamed magic and are constantly tired.
I guess I'll have to wait until the bug is fixed. So annoying. I feel

This is an older bug and has nothing to do with the patch. The bug doesn’t trigger always to 100%. I think it was 10-15%, so it was always better to save before you level up.

I'm sure he means the bug triggers so sporadically even the community here would have problems to fix it. Or rather, the community is having trouble fixing it, so it's still there.

1. is hard to reproduce, even for players.
2. It happen rare, and a reload before you level up fix it.
3. This bug is low VERY low in the fix scala.

You should know EA! You are their loyal customer since YEARS. They know their customer, and they know they come back after they calm down. You only need to look on this shopping cart! Is still there although people complained since they add it!

Enough people come back with a new DLC play a little and go away, then repeat this with the new DLC. This people only care about bugs which break their game, because they mostly never run in such minor bugs.

I get mad. I delete the game never to return because of something like I cant start the game or play it.
Then I think: Id better down load it before the end of the month and my download limit is reset... I have plenty of gigabytes left this month
Then for ♥♥♥♥ and giggles to verify my disgust, I hit the play button.
