Ingame achievements are per save, you probably loaded another save.

If you keep playing in the same savefile, you should be able to eventually unlock all achievements.

Speaking of achievements, the points we get for earning those don't do anything, right?

I don't think they do anything, at least on PC.

A bit pointless, then :) I still like the achievements, though. Playing with the same save for a long time earns you quite a few, too.

ye i like to do them after the gameplay gets boring, adds some challenge

Same :) Some of them are really weird, though, and some take a lot of time to complete, like the one where your household has to earn one million Simoleons. Took me months in real time to get there without a cheat :)

ye its one of the best way without using console commands just go to someone and take bunch of selfies and it boosts the relationship and just ask to move in

and it seems that EA forgot they exist because i think only the Get to work DLC (out of 50+ DLCs)
adds new achievements :steamfacepalm:

Outdoor Retreat does, too - for collecting, cooking and eating bugs and plants, and I think there's one for City Living. There's also one for gathering Simstagram Followers (Cats & Dogs, I think), and with Seasons you get one for taking an outside swim in winter - fun, but you have to be careful with this one because your Sim might freeze to death. But I think that's about it... and according to Google, a few achievements are now inactive while some have been removed.

I think it also has achievements for reaching level 10 in the three new careers, and I think you can get achievements for having a relationship with an alien or let an alien impregnate a male Sim... and I know one of my Sims had a scientific breakthrough while she was taking a shower :)
