how to make custom townies / view the map and see all my households

1. i'd love to make custom townies!!! i want to get rid of the base game ones with my own creations. i dont really know how and i want help.

2. how do i view the map and see all my households? ive seen people do this numerous times but i dont know what to click.

You can use Deaderpool's MCCC mod to have custom townies fulfill roles in the game. There's a Tray Importer section you select. Then you put the hashtag #MCCC_include on any creation in your gallery that you want to be a background character. I just merge like 8 sims in a household that I like from the gallery and put #MCCC_include in the comment box. Then the game will bring them into your world individually.

#MCCC_bypass or #MCCC_exclude for sims you don't want included in your game but if you have the game find sims by hashtags #MCCC_include it will skip all your other gallery sims anyway.

This is pretty awesome. You can edit existing households and even make new ones.
I guess people in homes are not townies, tho. I'm off subject again.
