The Sims™ 4

The Sims™ 4

How much data per hour to play Sims 4?
Got my internet bill... rather high!
Got my tax assessment... 16% increase over last year.
Budget is tight.
I have to be logged in to play Sims 4.
How much data per hour does EA use just to be online? I heard a story that they're sending lots of information.
Any way to check? once upon a time had a program called "Wire", where you could monitor such things. Windows makes that kinda... not gonna happen.

The App History tab in Windows Task Manager shares how much network data each process (app) that's running is using. CTRL+SHIFT+ESC and click "More Details" at the bottom if you don't see tabs at the top.

For history over a set period of time and within set data limits (that you can set) click on Windows' Start Button and type "Data Usage Overview". You don't need a search field to type in just start typing when the Start Menu appears. Click the Data Button to see a per-app listing.

We don't need 3rd party bloatware nonsense to do that... :)
Windows does it, and does it pretty well. A 3rd party app very likely gets the info it displays from the data Windows stores and displays.

Maybe it won't list "Sims 4" using data because the game is not actually what's using data, the EA app is? It's also not impossible someone found a way on to your wi-fi without you knowing. If you'd like help with checking on that I can guide you through accessing your router to check that if you don't already know how and would like me to.

Your internet provider can look into that and help you kick a freeloader off of it if that's happening. Most routers list devices that either are or have been connected to it and there are options to prevent specific devices from connecting, or you can simply change or have the password changed by your ISP.

I'm glad to help if you'd like me to. Your ISP is really your best option to contact and ask because only they are able to tell you where your data usage is going in detail. Your router's logs may not have specific usage info. Your ISP should have that info, at least to some degree where they can say "Yeah...[this] is using a lot of data." so you know what to limit.
