The Sims™ 4

The Sims™ 4

Where is the save files? Save missing...
I made a new sim and a house for them. Well it saved and then I worked on more progress another day. The game shut down by itself and when I loaded it the game not only didn't save when it shut down, but the entire past save is gone meaning the sim and their house don't exist. I can find no save files in the steam folder and it doesn't appear one drive is even on. How can I locate a missing save that disappeared when the game shut down? Its one thing if I lost my progress from something unsaved, but this is like two saves back gone.

Is there any way to auto save? Weird.

Theres no way to auto-save, and if the save file is actually gone there is no way to retrieve it. What I suggest doing is when you exit the game each time you play, find the save file and copy it onto your desktop or something so that this cant happen again

First the Sims 4 doesn’t have auto-save on PC, only manually save. (Console has maybe a auto-save function)
Second the save should be under your document folder: Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 -> saves

MC Command Center has an auto-save feature. But, it can be flaky. Just remember to hit escape and Save from the main menu every 5-10 minutes - especially if you're creating a new Sim.
