Steam deleted my 'Get Famous' DLC pack from Sims 4
Any idea of why this could've happened? I did pay for it a couple of years ago and about a couple of months ago I noticed it missing and it's just now bothering me because it's not something I want to pay for again.

I experienced a similar problem recently on thread I made, but else nobody commented on. It had to do with me experiencing a crash on Steam and my EA App being open, but it was blank. I noticed i had lost all of my dlc apparently which freaked me out where I left at the main menu instead of loading a saved game. I then refreshed EA app and noticed The Sims 4 included on it, but it would not allow me to launch because of an error where it thought the app was still running. So I restarted my computer, then verified file integrity on Steam, and lastly checked if my game still had the dlc on both Steam and EA App before launching The Sims 4.

When I noticed that both recognized I had the dlc I then went to play The Sims 4 again after its successful relaunch and noticed I got back all of my dlc. Does Steam/EA App recognize that you own this dlc? Your problem might be different than mine, but at least either on Steam or on EA App you should still be recognized as owning Get Famous DLC meaning that I doubt you lost it on both EA App and Steam. You also did not specify if you originally purchased Get Famous from Steam, EA App, or Origin, but in my case I got the Get Famous dlc from Steam (which also includes basegame from Steam as well instead of EA App) instead of the other two. Regardless of whether you purchased Get Famous from Steam or EA App it should still be recognized as being owned at least on EA App.

It's weird because all of my other dlc's I own are showing up it's just the one that isn't, it isn't showing up on EA or Steam that I own it at all but I have played it before and bought it back in like 2020. EDIT: I might've gotten it from Origin, since I did get it years ago.

Like I said my experience might be different than yours. Wish I could say more to help, but hopefully someone else might comment here to help you. It is weird that your dlc is not recognized even on EA App. (Edit) Some people might experience the opposite where they purchased a dlc on Steam and is recognized on EA App, but not recognized on Steam after losing dlc.

I understand thank you so much for attempting to help I really do appreciate it! I can also try the things you've done but if it doesn't end up working then oh well I guess I will just buy it again in the future lol!

I edited my previous comment. Some people might experience the opposite where they purchased a dlc on Steam and it is still recognized on EA App, but not recognized on Steam after losing dlc. Reason why I thought it was weird and seems unusual that both Steam and even EA App think you are missing Get Famous.

No, Steam did NOT do that.

First step should have you really purchased it from Steam/EA?

Please check your purchase history from Steam (click on you Steam name (picture) -> Account Details (YourAccountName) -> View purchase history -> check it ALL) If it is not visible there you never purchased it directly from Steam.

Then make the same in Origin/EA APP (Log in EA APP -> click on the three strokes -> Settings -> My profile click on manage -> click on order history) If it not show up there you never purchased it there or you logged in the wrong EA Account which you have purchased it.

Now why this happen?
  • You purchased your key from a keyseller and the key got revoked because the seller was shady.
  • You tested GetFamous on Origin for a short time as trial (It was possible around October 2021) and just remember wrong.

Companies are legal obliged to have a record of your purchase history and not allowed just to delete them. (I do not remember how long they need to do that, but it was more as 10 years). Some companies never delete your purchase history because it’s good for marketing research.

Edit: Sorry for my gramma, but I hope you still understand it. (I am not stable enough to correct it now better (health))

Xeriath has good points across. I am surprised that ybk.trin has not responded yet to her comment.

Yes they certainly did! It's found to be shown that I own it on Sims 4 and now Steam isn't giving me access to download it :).

I get that and steam so far isn't showing that I did purchase it from here. So you are probably right but I don't think it was a trial period as I had it for over like 3 months and it shows I own it but I need to "download the pack before playing" on the actual Sims 4 Game. I genuinely am confused why this could be happening.
