Journey to Batuu only gamepack with 40% discount for May
I think this is perhaps EA's way of showing us they want to give away this gamepack for free just like Jungle Adventures which only happened once, but are hesitant. Even for me this is one of the few packs I would not recommended that people buy despite me owning this gamepack, because I have mixed feelings about this gamepack where I would give it only a 5 out of 10 rating. Part of me wants to like it and understand that some people love Star Wars who are big fans of Star Wars, but part of me is disappointed with it as well especially with the vacation world and feels like it does not belong on The SIms 4 despite EA's direct involvement in making Star Wars (such as SWTOR and other Star Wars games). I suspect part of the reason why it has a 40% discount instead of 30% discount is because not enough people are buying it. The biggest problem with Journey to Batuu is that it may require gameplay that is more specifically in reference towards Star Wars besides only just the vacation world (such as for example if you add Obi Wan Kenobi to your gameplay you might also need to add in Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Darth Vader/Anakin, Palpatine, and etc... from the gallery and I am not sure exactly as to how build items from this gamepack fit in with "normal builds") despite this game not being based on Star Wars for the most part and you might need Realm of Magic/extreme violence mod as well to make it feel more complete.

Personally, it's at the bottom of my list, and is only on my list because builders have put it on my radar.
I'm waiting for the Summer Sale though. I know the Winter sale had some heavy discounts, and someone else mentioned on here that summer and winter seem to have the highest discounts (I know I've seen Get Famous with a 60% off tag, or even 67%).
So I don't think Batuu is on it's own as far as heavy discounts go, it's just standing out a little more this time around.

There's also some CAS items that aren't too bad. Toddlers getting anything is always a plus, and there is at least one hair for them (girls?). Depending on what section the face markings are in, they could be cool for anyone trying to make android sims (since servo's suuuuuuck like always. I don't know why Maxis doesn't just make them look good. They know what we use them for xD). There's some other items (like the hoods) that could work for a Medieval town. It kinda depends on what else you do in the Sims. I'm planning to do major overhauls on some worlds, with Cyberpunk and Medieval themes being two of them.
There's also a flight suit that wouldn't be totally out of place in Strangerville.

I know some people are not visual, so they will look at a thing as intended and thinking outside the box is simply not their strong suit. I've been watching speed builds lately though, and some of what these people do is nuts in how they utilise things.

I will admit that I started using Journey to Batuu recently for CaS involving toddlers, infants, and children, but for sims older than child wearing Star Wars clothing it might seem awkward besides Star Wars characters (including those who are no longer considered cannon to Star Wars such as Mara Jade for example) and maybe occult sims (especially for spellcasters, aliens, and even vampires). As for the hair some of the options are okay, but some of them are also in obvious reference towards Star Wars such as the Rey hairstyle for example does not seem versatile outside of Star Wars.

In one of my gameplays for example one of my human sims had a baby with spellcaster. Now her son was born not a spellcaster because of the human father, but he does have a weak bloodline and because that child is at least partially a spellcaster because of his mother then perhaps I might have that sim wear some Journey to Batuu clothing even when older than child just because of his mother being a spellcaster despite her not having any association with Star Wars who was one of the main sims from Glimmerbrook named Grace Ananci. However, for a normal sim Journey to Batuu clothing might seem out of place for non occult sims and sims who are not directly associated in some way to Star Wars regardless of whether they are cannon to Star Wars or not. If you were for example going to play pretend that Obi Wan Kenobi or Luke Skywalker were to become parents on The Sims 4 that child could grow up wearing Journey to Batuu clothing even if the mother did not originate from Star Wars (such as for example if Luke Skywalker from Star Wars were to perhaps marry Kathryn Janeway from Star Trek where she becomes pregnant with child and Luke is the father instead of someone from Star Trek), but might make less sense otherwise.

I feel that the build/buy parts and lightsabers can be decent additions for sci-fi play in general, not just Star Wars specifically (of course, if you don't wanna go to Batuu, the only way to get lightsaber parts is through cheating). Though admittedly, if you aren't a sci-fi or Star Wars fan, the pack doesn't have much to offer.

Btw, if anyone DOES decide to get this pack, I highly recommend getting this mod: https://www.curseforge.com/sims4/mods/lightsaber-fix

Lightsaber parts are normally marked as collectibles, meaning they don't function in NPC inventories. This mod fixes that, enabling lightsaber duels between households that both own lightsabers.
The only DLC lower than Baty Baatu is the Men's Wear Kit.

And yes.....Baatu. Literally situated on the bottom most dungeon floor. That is one Marianas Trench deep below my Steam library's digitally dustiest DLC basement level.

Talk about destroying not one but two fan base loved pop culture franchises.

Had the Exceptional As$h@T$ designed NOT designed Baatu GP to be a 1X only play through? And especially tried to have designed it to be like the Werewolves GP i.e. CONTAINED within that Sci Fi worl And so would NOT have been so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ obnoxiously intrusive into regular gameplay? (ie. the boring, normal Brady Bunch legacy sim family game play?)

Family legacy game play which is typically done in regular/non occult themed worlds that do NOT have cosplaying alien Sims and/or occult Vamp/Werewolf sims. Boring family legacy game play which btw, over 90% of the Simmer fan base prefer playing on daily basis....

You know what you'd have had if you'd thought NOT to impose your Disney marketing on Simmers like me EA? A happy customer. Who would've BOUGHT your $$$ GP because I realized I'd been able to treat it like a getaway amusement park (see irl Disneyworld). Or a fantasy world like the Werewovles GP the way (Dragon Valley & Into the Future DLC worlds were back in TS3)

Average simmer like me DOES NOT CARE TO SEE FUGLY, LOW POLY, POORLY DESIGNED SIMS COSPLAYING ALIENS INVADING OUR NEIGHBORHOODS. KEEP BAATU FUGLY SIMS CONFINED TO BAATU. AND YOU MIGHT ACTUALLY GET MORE SIMMERS INTERESTED IN BUYING THAT POS GP.

I could perfectly understand why you and many others do not like this gamepack. For someone who does not often give negative reviews even I am convinced this is perhaps one of the worst gamepacks besides Dine Out (which even if I do recommend it is just barely), maybe Outdoor Retreat (I do not hate it it, comes with bundles, and many people own Outdoor Retreat, but I could understand why many people do not like it), Dream Home Decorator (because of mixed reviews and I do not play that much anyway with the new career), and My Wedding Stories (an unpopular opinion, but I actually like this slightly more than Journey to Batuu). Also, not everyone can use the extreme violence mod, because of only playing The Sims 4 on console instead of PC. Apparently, lightsabers can be used an actual weapon with the extreme violence mod. You also forgot to mention spellcasters which Jedi and Sith sims without spellcasting are pretty much useless, but I do get your point across.

Its possible its on a slightly bigger sale because its the week of May the 4th, you know Star Wars Day. There will no doubt be a May the 4th sale on steam, there always is and so maybe EA just bumped the sale price for Batuu so they can show up in that sale page in 2 days. They have other Star Wars titles so you can bet and they too are on sale at the moment.

I never thought of that, but that makes sense. However, even if that is the only reason why Journey to Batuu has 40% discount while the rest have a 30% discount I still think that at least 7 of the gamepacks (Realm of Magic, Vampires, Werewolves, Parenthood, Jungle Adventure, Strangerville, and Spa Day) are better than Journey to Batuu.

I think it's a fun pack. You even get your own R2 unit (Beep boop tweet deeeet! Oh, don't be rude you bucket of bolts!) and my sims settle their marital issues with lightsabers.
Aside from that I've never seen any of the Batuu npcs in any of the regular worlds or any sim wearing some Star Wars clothes except for some kids with the Rey hairdo.

I think that part of the reason why I do not see very many sims wearing Journey to Batuu clothing is at least partially because I own almost every pack (except Modern Menswear, Bust the Dust, Industrial Loft, Bathroom Clutter, and Party Essentials which for the last one I kind of want but not really that only recently came out) in addition to a little bit of cc as well from Curse Forge.

After years of CC back when with Sims 3 I try to avoid CC (Hello, my name is Jolie. I'm a CC addict...) so I don't even have "a little bit" and don't see any SW clothes outside of Batuu.

Bust the Dust is some fun if you have Laundry stuff. I tend to get the packs that are interesting to me or have a (almost) similar pack in S3.
