Update question
How do I rollback an update?
It might surprise you but I prefer to play with mods.
This latest update broke things, and rather than waiting for the mods to update, I'd like to rollback the game update.

u dont need to rollback, just turn back on "Enable CC and Mods" in Game Options, and restart the game.

Same here. Does not seem to be a way to do it through the beta launch options as there are none -_-

Hey, i've done that and also cleared cache but for me, just seems to be glitchy. For example, the options in top right corner (gallery, camera, build mode, notification etc) are all overlapping each other.

It seems others are up to the steps I took now. Is there a way to roll back the game to fix the problems that persist because of the update taking mod folder addresses the mods did previously?

I do like it when it tells interesting stories, the mods I use expand on the stories told. The base game kind of does odd things like overfeeding, doing actions too often or getting stuck. The mods i have generally fix those issues but, this game has been updated a lot lately and I doubt the modding community can keep that pace being volunteers that do it because they too enjoy this game with a few tweaks. I'm just trying to keep my old saves without having to restart as often or keep playing other games while mods are updated at the rate the company does.

I hope you understand. It's a good base like Rimworld or Crusader kings but it is much better with the polish that modders do.

no, hes right the update did create some sims to stop interacting with others. it seems they corrupted those few sims (the older one, the one I've worked on for a long time) go figure thanks again EA your the best at creating bugs...

Mods are messing up my game play and CAS configurations. Turbodriver is reporting errors.

Will reinstalling be a good idea?

It might help, but I have tried clean installing and without the mods it doesn't flag the stuck behavior. With my mods it does. If the mods you use are not related to behavior or these fixes, it might make the game run better. However if you had mods that did change or tweak behavior to fix or change interactions, the mods will need to catch up before these issues are resolved. Some mods will be less effected than others. Generally the broader the animation package options the more likely it will break.

I'm going to restart my game with these new settings, and disable the mods that were effected until these things are resolved. Mostly because I don't believe I'm going to be permitted to roll back the version like other modded games. For some reason Sims does not permit betas like other modded games. They of course could like Rimworld. Making people like myself not to request a roll back. I could do that myself and even play with the options that are not offered that I like.

I hope that clears that up for you.

Folks, there's no way to roll-back an update that I know of. You either update or you don't.

Best practice on Patch Day is to go offline in your App and ignore the update til reports come in about what's broken.

Right now one of the Modding Tools no longer works, meaning some broken mods will take a little time before they get updated.

If you've already updated, you've got no choice right now but to play with your .ts4script mods disabled or removed. Some CC might also be broken. Some .package mods will also be broken depending on what they change.

Be sure to delete your localthumbcache.package file!

Reinstalling will not help.

This is just part of "The Sims 4 modding" and you should expect to go through this with every official game update.
