Is there a way to tell which items/activities make noise for apartment living?

Some things are obvious, like playing guitar, but other things seem less intuitive. My neighbor's now my enemy because of a treadmill, for example. Is there a tag on items someplace that I'm missing?

That would be a good idea, but no there is not. So all I can say is use common sense. I know back when i lived in an apartment my downstairs neighbors hated me for using a treadmill during Covid, thankfully because of Covid the property manager said it was ok, and im sure they hated me all the more for that too LOL.

Anyhow, I cant say this for certain, but considering it is the sims, I would bet that some activities that came with packs after City Living may not count as loud, though they may have gone back and added those in due to For Rent. Generally though if its something you think might make noise it will make your neighbors mad in City Living, but I mean your neighbors are also likely to constantly make noise and keep your sims up half the night too. City Living apartments I feel are best designed as a transitory style of living like at the beginning of your sims young adult life or something. The constant racket made by neighbors makes living in an apartment long term, and if you have 3 or more sims in living in your apartment they are all going to need to be in bed by like 8pm or autonomy is going to cause someone to make noise and make your neighbors mad.

Turning up the stereo can be very annoying; one of my Sims has a neighbour who loves to play music very loudly in the evening or at night so my Sim can't go to sleep and has to walk over to the other apartment to knock on the door and demand silence.

I remember the times in my life that I have lived in apartments. It can be very trying when you have kids /pest. I mean me and my girls had like movie night where I order pizza then we popped popcorn and watched some movie or other . Had tons of VHS tapes to much to choose from. Not really a bug neighbor night. However, we all all loved music and dancing and we would have kind of like dance competitions among us. Not really overly noise and never late at night as I worked early and we were all in bed by 9pm on their school nights. But even so some people hate kids or anyone that might have fun. For 4 girls most of the time things were quiet. Anything that can make a noise no matter how soft can bother others in an apartment. Then their is always those that complain just to do it. I really hate living in apartments. lol
