How to update EA

I know this is Steam but I just logged into Sims 4 and got a message after a download the I needed to update EA by June 10 or would not be able to play. The only way I know to update EA is uninstall and re-install. Unlike Steam where you click on upload then just close it out and reopen. So just what is this all about. I play from Steam I buy from Steam and I know when logging in from Steam I have to have the EA app installed and it opens into it. I have not heard anything where after June 10 I won't be able to use Steam anymore but that sounds like that could be the case. If so I will be done with TS4 or any SIms because I trust Steam Not EA.

I took print screen but can't get here. Not real tech savvy.

Due to ongoing maintenance of EA App. older versions of the game will become incompatible after June 10. Update before then to keep launching your game normally!

Don't uninstall it, just go to the ea app download page and click on the repair option (click on download app to get to it) . I just did it a few minutes ago and it worked perfectly. It, basically, just installed the latest version of the ea app over the top of the old one.

For people with the same issue and have fully update the game. It’s only a visual bug. You don’t need to worry about it.

I did as you instructed, that "update prompt" in game is still there.

Yes. I clicked download, installer was downloaded, clicked on it, chose repair. Still the prompt.

Just logged in so not sure why. I followed steps but either that doesn't have an effect on the pop up screen or that didn't work

So after running the installer it will ask to either download or repair, chose repair and it did its job.
Now to start the game and see if the pop up comes again.

I had the exact same problem as you and I completley closed my EA launcher and started Sims from Steam, then closed the game and open EA Launcher again. Start Sims again from Steam and it worked... the message was gone but sadly the login rewards had not drop for me. I dont know why cause my friend got his already...

Well I did all that and I still get the alert pop on logging in. I did attempt to uninstall in order to reinstall and hopefully get the newest version that way. It is not possible to uninstall or remove EA other than Maybe a factory reset. When you attempt the reinstall the window that comes up which should ask you to confirm says you can't uninstall until EA is closed. However, EA is not open but when you close that window the EA on my bar closed. So, apparently when the uninstall opens it is EA app there is no way to properly uninstall EA or update either apparently . Maybe the Alert pop up will no go away until after the 10th or maybe ever so If you have log in issues you see that as why.

Nothing that I have seen. I have never gotten a response from them when posting issues or problems. But I don't see where they have respond to this issue either

Does the update prompt refer to the ea app, or does it refer to Sims 4?. You can repair Sims 4 through the ea app (probably wise to remove mods and cc's from the mods folder first though, old out of date mods may cause problems too). You can repair the ea app through the ea app menu as well. i think I'am right in saying that rewards will not be available to all until June 13.

A day later and the prompt didn't pop up again. Still some days left to solve your problem.

Edit: did it give you all the log-in-password-email-agree-to-terms-etc-yadda-yadda?

Mine went away after last patch. Maybe it goes away a day or two after though not sure if it was patch or what but it went away.
