Sims 4 wont launch. Error message: Game is already running
Hey guys,
Anyone please experienced this and solved it these days?
The game is indeed not running when I am trying it.
Tried hard reinstall - twice.
Also tried all the "tips" I managed to find online, but most guides were from 2023 and before.
- Cleared cache
- verified files
- Moved the EA file from Documents to my desktop
- several restarts
This is my first time trying out Sims - so cant tell if there would be any corrupted data
As it is connected to my EA acc - I did two tickets there without any response.
Thanks a lot for any help!

Have you tried reinstalling (or repairing, if it won't let you do that) the ea app:
https://www.ea.com/ea-app

Check that the ea app and Sims 4 aren't already running (assuming your using windows), press CNTRL, ALT, Delete together and look in the Task Manager to see if they are running end task for all instances of Sims 4 and ea app. Exempt Sims 4 in your anti virus program from anti virus checks.

Go to Sims 4 Answers for help:

I am having this same issue, And no attempts at resolving this are working. The EA customer support has misdirected me several times even suggesting I update my graphics card. But I am successfully running all my other games. Only the Sims 4 is not working.

I got a warning (today) to update my ea app. I went to the ea app page and 'download' then repair. I watched it installing and it, basically, just installed the latest version of the ea app. I wonder if that would help you.

Have you checked Task Manager to see if it's running? Those errors aren't known to report things that aren't actually happening.

How to:
Press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to open Task Manager

If you don't see tabs at the top of Task Manager's window click "More Details" at the bottom.

Click on the "Processes" tab and scroll through looking for anything that says "Sims4" or "TheSims4". If you see anything related to TheSims4 listed = it truly is already running.

Left-Click to Highlight each listing you see of the game running and then click the End Task button in the bottom right corner.

If you're using a Mac...say so. These are instructions for Windows.
