Prolonging my sims life somehow
So i want my sim to live forever or at least through like 10 generations because it would be cool but i don't want to have them keep aging and then resetting their age with the potion so i was wondering if there was any way to indefinitely prolong my sims lives. I know about the vampire DLC but i heard that they have to keep sucking blood and stuff which doesn't fit with who i am so i'm also wondering if there is an alternative way to prolong vampires lives without needing to suck blood or whatever.

You can stop aging in the Gameplay options.

The MCCC mod can help you:

if you have vampires you can turn your into into one they are immortal

also if you have the spellcaster pack spellcasters can make potions of immortality that prevents anyone who drinks it from dying

i've yet to play them cause i dont like em but i hear werewolves can be immortal

or you can go the mod route like MCCC

vampires do not have to suck on anothers neck if you dont want, you can play plant plasma fruit trees and use its fruit for food or you can buy plasma packs off the PC its like plasma fruit but fills the hunger meter more

You can always age up your Sims manually by baking a cake and putting candles on it they have to blow out :)

You can always age up your Sims manually by baking a birthday cake and let them blow out the candles.

As for the immortality potion, I think that one only works as far as dying form old age is concerned. It pretty much says as much in the description, too, which sucks because in my book, immortality means that nothing can kill my Sim. If I want to prevent them from dying of old age, I simply don't age them up, and by now, I've turned off aging in the options because even potions such as Eternal Youth have their limits - what it does is prolong the given lifespan but eventually, the Sim will age if you don't prevent it. Hence, the potions are a bit of a mixed blessing. Also, the immortality potion can have side effects, like turning your Sim into a ghost for I think twenty-four Sim hours. I freaked out when that happened to mine because I thought the potion had killed her. Turns out this is a rather common side effect that wears off.

i've played a family for 10 generations by making babies and aging up, and repeating the process. and i keep aging down the selected 'ancestor'.

i know i can keep them as immortal, never-aging ghosts. but i don't like them to appear as ghosts. in fact, if i forget to age them down in time, and they die, i add the ghost to the household and make it eat ambrosia.

no mods.
