🔥 March 7th, 2024 - Patch 3/6/2024 allegedly addresses the following bugs and some others:

1. This Moodlets nonsense.
   
2. Hovering over items in your sim's inventory.
   
3. Social Menu not working.
   
4. Sims forgetting WooHoo interests.
   
5. Crystal Creations and Get to Work should work together now.

AHQ usually has a bug list. I'll try to find it and link it. If not I'll just make a list of what we've got on our troubleshooting thread on Reddit.

💀 If you're still on the Jan 16th patch DO NOT UPDATE YET!:

• The following works for other games and is stated to work for The Sims 4. You should probably turn off Schedule auto-updates under Steam Settings > Downloads. Now, GO OFFLINE in Steam and RESTART Steam IN OFFLINE MODE (restarting Steam is mandatory), THEN OPTIONALLY (but likely not necessary) launch EA App or Origin and GO OFFLINE, THEN launch the game.
  
• Follow these instructions to configure The Sims 4 for OFFLINE play to avoid EA ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3128600854
  
• If you've updated to the Feb 27th patch then you might as well update to the Feb 28th patch. How much worse can it get? Famous last words. 😹

💀 Best practice for Patch Day moving forward:

• Go Offline in your apps and avoid updating until reports start coming in about what's broken in-game and which mods are broken. We've been on a downward spiral for a while. December 2023 patches did some serious damage and February 2024 appears to be even worse. Broken mods are part of the modding experience but the constant stream of in-game bugs introduced with every patch is unacceptable.

💀 As for the unwanted Shopping Cart button EAxis seems insistent on keeping:

🌟 Two notes everyone needs to read:

... that gives some explanation to what changed with the Feb 2024 patches and how it affects mods. LMS writes this concerning their own mods but these changes to Group IDs likely affect all mods that contain them. A heads up from the EAxis team about what was coming would have been really nice. I've made some minor edits to the note.

EA changed something which affects some of my Mods. Those Mods will not work 100% for simmers who don’t have all Packs.

Each Tuning has a Group ID and these Group IDs are now bound to certain Packs. An Interaction that worked fine before, will not show up anymore because the Group ID is from a Pack the simmer does not have. I will have to go though all my Mods one by one and check that each custom Tuning has the correct Group ID.

This will take a while.

If you have all Packs or most Packs, you will probably not have any issues, but if you don’t own all relevant Packs, it might be that some Interactions, Buffs etc don’t work until I change the Group IDs.

Unfortunately, there was a lot more damage to mods than expected with [the Feb 27th] patch. A lot of script mods broke because of a fix that EA applied. Core Library by Lot 51 is also broken, therefore mods that require it may not work properly until it's updated.

ALL mods should be considered BROKEN (even if they're not listed as such) until the status changes to UPDATED or COMPATIBLE.

Actually, someone here needs to verify for me that you only need to Go Offline in the EA App for this to work when launching from Steam.

You might need to Go Offline in both apps.

I'm only certain this works for launching from EA App.

1) Going "online" in EA app requires you agree to their new terms, which is they promise you nothing. you're ♥♥♥♥♥♥ if the game stops working because of the update.
2) You still can't start Sims 4, because it requires you to go online.

I'm done with these greedy ea assclowns. They robbed me of hundreds if not thousands of dollars and their agreement is that you can't sue them.

I've not encountered this (YET), but as I said, I play strictly on EA App. If there's an EA App update, I update (when it finally lets me), then I can switch to OFFLINE MODE and skip any updates the game has.

The only way for me to play one of my LEGITIMATELY OWNED Crysis games is in Offline Mode because EA hasn't cared to fix the bugged update prompt on the game that prevents me from playing when I'm in Online Mode.

These publishers keep complaining about [illegal activity] but they refuse to accept their own ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ behavior is THE MAIN REASON [illegal activity] exists. I got out of it because I wanted to support developers but these publishers just take your money and screw you without a care in the world.

I would love to know if there's grounds for a class-action lawsuit against EA for their mishandling of The Sims 4 because this game has been on that "downward spiral" since release. There has to be something somewhere about selling broken products and never properly fixing it.

The only game I could start from the EA app was Sims 3. NO ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ WAY am I ever going to start Sims 3 from the EA app, because i'm running v1.67 and they'll break it by making it 1.69 which is glitchy and "forgets" what DLC you have installed.
Sim4 and EA app is off my computer. All Patreon developers of Sims 4 mods are unsubscribed. Never doing business with EA again. They're greedy and will cheat you. I hate having stuff stolen.

Not any "outdated mods" are the Problem, YOUR bugs fix that PRODUCE hundrets of NEW bugs are the problem !!!! The Game is UNPLAYABLE NOW, i spend a LOT of Money, and if your are not able to make all those THINGS YOU SELL Useable you have to pay the MONEY BACK ! Not to mention that I'm almost certain that GOING OFFLINE IN STEAM AND RESTARTING STEAM removes the update prompt in other games.

Eventually I'm just going to do some sorcery on my PC and verify this myself because no one has given me a proper answer that doesn't sound half-arsed.
